Tru, your new chairs are very pretty! The cushions are, too. Are they new?

You got that right dg! That machine ate up the snow I got over here like it was a vacuum cleaner. Jack across the street is SO jealous! I'm so happy to have that machine.I did two driveways yesterday and the only issue I had with the machine was the drift the snowplow put up to the end of the driveways. In the snow was chunks of ice and no machine I know of will eat those ice chunks very well. Mine did ok but the ice sure put a buzz kill into my fun!
I believe I heard the airport got 17.8 inches? Maybe that was Bloomington's totals, not sure now. All I know is after 12 inches, it don't matter anymore.

No Goldie l just brought out a couple of cushions from the big ugly chair in the house.
I had made them long ago when l could see to sew.
I had outdoor cushions l gave away when l moved here, new ones too.

jrfan, You got that right. After 12 inches it really doesn't matter. I know we will have some warm temps later this week but it's still going to take a while to get rid of this and we might get a couple of more inches on wednesday.
I got home and used the snowblower to clean up what was left on the driveway. The snowblower really doesn't like the half melted heavy stuff.

I cleaned up with the shovel yesterday. You're right dg, snowblowers don't do well with wet, heavy snow, especially with only a few inches of it. I'm sore this morning, but that's a good thing right? The deck and patio were still waiting on me to get the snow cleared off so I did that yesterday. The patio had a three foot drift going through it from the garage. I definitely got me a workout yesterday. I could've easily brought out the snowblower but decided I needed a workout. I've gotten so soft this winter. I guess sitting in the fish house all the time does that. Plus the beer, but we won't discuss that any further.....

Nah, couldn't be the beer! Perish the thought.

Yeah, the snowblower just oozed the heavy stuff or else it just pushed it along. I backed off the pile and then it blew it. I wasn't about to shovel the stuff.
I got home today and about half the snow melted off the roof including the hugh drifts on the edge of it. I can't tell if the snow in the yard is melting or just condensing. lol

I'm thinking it's doing both dg. Tootz is outside right now walking on top of the snow, breaking through occasionally. She's learned to walk softly, so-too-speak. Kinda cute watching her go after the two squirrels I'm nursing through the winter. She spent dang near all day out on the deck yesterday sunning herself. I checked her every now and again and no sunburn. Her fur is the perfect length for this weather we're having this week.

Hey gang, sorry I haven't checked in lately. Been busy with work (part time) supposedly, and doing appointments for myself, and others. Happy Wednesday! I will post more when time allows.

Problem with freezing food is , if it is a delicious dish when you take it out to reheat and you want more of it, and it was so long ago that you can't remember the recipe used, just too bad. Durn. That happened to me yesterday. It is or should be a fairly simple recipe.. just mac and cheese with hamburger in it and tomatoes...but l have made simple recipes before , like meatloaves, and some turn out well , while others are just so so. Why l don't know.

I freeze a lot of leftovers. Yesterday I had salmon and froze what was leftover. Sundays, I bake some bacon and fry up some country sausage for breakfast and froze whatever was/ is left over. Once a week I take out what I freeze throughout the week and have a leftover night. Seems to work out for me. Tootz would prefer to eat the leftovers, but no, we need to watch our weight around here, right...

Once a week leftover night ? How disciplined. I wish l could do thing s like that. Or maybe not as l might have for dinner on leftover night :
Lasagne 4 pieces, fried fish, spaghetti 4 helpings, meatloaf and sweet potatoes 5 helpings, a pork chop with applesauce, and two swiss steaks with mashed potatoes. I think that would be fattening rather than watching my weight. When l freeze leftovers it is because l still cook for 4 instead of one or two. I make lasagne l eat it one or two meals then freeze about 2 to 4 more helpings etc,
I guess l could have some at lunch..
Anyway, do you like the changes here mnjr?I mean juniorfan.? I remember you mentioned the last post first before. Personally l preferred the way it was as l like to read what all was said but l guess l can just go back now. Or just respond to the last poster only.
I hadn't realized l hadn't had bacon for quite awhile and l wanted a bacon and tomato sandwich. I normally have some in the freezer as l buy the 2 and 1/2 pounder when it is marked down at Safeway, but l don't go there much anymore. I bought less yesterday for less per pound so that is good as it gets old tasting even frozen.

Son and l discussed lots of things when we went to lunch yesterday. Whew it was good but EXPENSIVE... l mean $70 some plus tip.
Anyway the desserts were delicious. My cannelloni was cooked well and l found out that the one l liked from years ago was not traditional so l might as well give up trying to get it again. This one had spinach in it. The one l remember was 3 meats. fine grind and texture. OH Well.
Back to what we discussed that was of importance to me. My moving to be closer to him. The place l am eyeing is in Roseville and he agreed it is a nice little town with much shopping and restaurants and large hospitals.
I explained how l would be giving up a lot , leaving this apt...but that l figured out that the 3 most important things to me at this stage of my life are...to be closer to him. To have an indoor washer/dryer and on site food. So he understood that and other reasons as well. Like being able to shop Costco easier and share a lot with him etc.
