I will be checking in as the season progresses, but I think it is going to be a sad display this year.

Normally, when a team scores 10 runs at home it is enough to win the game. Unfortunately, these are not normal times for the Tigers. Tigers fall to 0-1.

hooky, I agree that it will be a long year the Tigers. Their pitching is pretty bad...again.

The Tigers sweep the 3 game series from the White Sox in Chicago.

Tigers are playing better than I would have expected. Helps being in the worst division in baseball, potentially the worst division in the history of baseball...
How about JV!!! Killing in in Houston!

Well, it doesn't look like the Tigers are quite ready yet with this youth movement to compete against the likes of Boston and NY...

Having a competent and experienced manager like Ron Gardenhire probably has a lot to due with the Tigers exceeding expectations so far.

The 2018 season is over for Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera was diagnosed with a ruptured tendon in his left biceps that will require season-ending surgery.

Miggy will DH next year when V-Mart retires.

I don't believe that anyone would have predicted that the Tigers would be 1 game below .500 and only 3 games out of 1st place in the AL Central here in the 2nd half of June. So far, they are the most positive surprise in MLB this season.

So far, they are the most positive surprise in MLB this season. They are beating the bad teams in their division to puff up their record - they don't compete well against .500 teams and better.
Especially with that God-awuful bullpen! Hopefully in a year or two when the rebuild is progressing we will start adding quality arms to the 'pen. This is usually the last piece added since a good closer (for example) is a luxury a team rebuilding can't afford.

Crazy - Leonys Martin will take weeks to recover from a life-threatening bacterial infection have played 6 games for the Indians after being traded at the deadline form the Tigers...
Hoping he makes a full and speedy recovery!
