True COVID-19 related news stories are so bizarre you'd almost think they were satire, or a cruel April Fools joke.

That would be humorous if not true.
Be afraid , be very ,very afraid. No one knows anything much about this particular virus. That is why we get so much conflicting information.
Stay in and stay protected while protecting others because even tho you may not have any symptoms, you could be a carrier of the virus. Protect others.
STAY HOME and good luck to all.

As much as we can't blame China, I still wonder if their reporting is correct or not.
It seems very strange that the USA and other European countries are spreading so rampantly. Either they're lying, we don't care about spreading it, we don't know what we're doing, or a combination of all three...

China is King Of Disinformation.
I'm sure our government knows they're lying about things returning to normal based on intel from agents, satellite data, thermal images, heat signatures, cellular communications, closures, power consumption, imports/exports - too much to list.
Some things are just too difficult to fake, cover up, or spin.

I don't know about that Mark, Trump seems to be very successful at all that.

One thing's for certain, people in the US would absolutely revolt if the government tries forced quarantine to prevent spread. In China, they revolt too but ultimately they do succumb in silence and the virus fails to replicate.
Here in the US, such actions would likely result in gunshots fired... and viral spreading continues.

Yow! Boris Johnson is in the ICU...
I've already heard one COVID-19 denier change his mind after hearing Boris Johnson getting infected... but is this sick or what?

People in the US love there freedom, but I am seeing less cars on the road.

As long as those guns aren't used against those of us who end up having supplies on hand because we prepared.

As long as those guns aren't used against those of us who end up having supplies on hand because we prepared. Agreed, I wish that people who claim firearms are part of their "preparedness" plan was not assuming that if they run out of supplies and all is left is their $1000 assault rifle... They aren't welcome to use that $1000 to hold hostage someone who spent that same $1000 to buy food instead of an inedible piece of metal.
But I was more worried about them using the firearms against police or other law enforcement tasked to forcibly quarantine those infected from the rest of the population. Technically this sounds no different from segregation, but at least illnesses should settle out in a month unlike other sorts of segregation.

Regarding firearms.
In several regions where I live and own properties it's common for year-round local residents (hunters, gun club members and gun enthusiasts) to have multiple handguns, multiple shotguns, multiple high power hunting rifles, and multiple high power semi-automatic rifles (what some call assault rifles), plus thousands of rounds of ammunition, reloading supplies etc.
These types tend to be financially secure, skilled, multi-skilled, self sufficient, innovative and well prepared, so they're not likely to use their weapons to steal from others.
These types are almost exclusively skilled, or multi-skilled essential workers, so they're ability to make money during this downtime is better than ever.
Once you get outside the cities and larger towns it's common for households to have weeks/months of supplies in their homes/vacation homes even during good times.
Before and during the time of New York's stay at home suggestion many of these households purchased literally months of food, goods and more, hence some of the hoarding based shortages.

If you were to judge by road traffic, packed parking lots, packed stores and people not social distancing in some local COVID-19 hotspots you wouldn't know we were in the middle of a pandemic.
The only clues would be a tiny percentage of shoppers wearing masks

Sheltering in place hasn't worked well in many regions as it requires streams of income, savings/credit and/or large quantities of food/goods in storage to successfully shelter in place long term.
Millions who aren't so lucky must venture out into the cold cruel world to make money to survive, shop as they make money, borrow, barter, hustle side jobs, hit up food banks etc.
Many are shopping at 6 plus stores per shopping trip and still can't get what they got in a single trip in the past as so many items are out of stock.
In New York our list of what's considered an essential business, or essential worker would shock some as our list is so long.

Afraid? I'm tired of being afraid. Sooner or later it seems the virus will attack us. Delaying is what physical distancing does in order to give the hospital's enough time to stock up for when we do finally go out and they start getting more cases. One thing about it but delaying I mean is that they learn more about how to treat possibly and come up with some treatments hopefully.
