So far this Spring, the offense is weak.

The Cardinals begin the 2019 with the record of 0-1, primarily because Mikolas pitched poorly and because the offense consisted of only Kolten Wong and Harrison Bader.

The Cardinals beat the Padres 4-1 to improve to a 4-5 record for 2019. Today's game was the first game of 2019 where the starting pitching, relief pitching, offense, and defense combined for a satisfactory performance for a victory.

Things going South -- time to start hitting consistently. Carpenter nosing down towards the Mendoza line (again). Maybe should get rid of that beard -- and get back to the 2013 look?

Nice to sweep the Cubbies. Wainwright looked good. Things may be heading North again?

Great to see Pujols back. Great to see the homer. Hey -- where are the Cards folks out there? I think they're going to turn it around and give the Cubbies a run for it. Maybe use Carp a little less -- How about the All Star process this year... What a joke. No Cards, no Mets, and who else -- Lots of Cubbies and Georgians. Ballot stuffing -- I gotta get a haircut that night so I'll miss it. Oh well.

Looks like Mo for 3 more years, along with Carpenter for 2.
