This franchise seems to always have a good regular season, but can't get it done in the playoffs, They're usually out by the end of the second round and always seem to lose to the Penguins. Any reason to think this season will be any different? They're currently in first place in the Metro Division by 5 points over Pittsburgh, and destined for another #1 seed. But it never seems to matter.

Well, maybe this year will be different. They may not wait until they play the Pens to choke.
Tom Wilson's 3rd period penalty, followed by the Vanek PP goal turned that game around.

Craps blow another 2-goal lead, thanks to dumb penalties and bad PK-ing, and lose again in OT. Now they're down 0-2 after 2 home games and facing a goaltending controversy after Grubauer was yanked for Holtby.
Trotz better go looking for another job!

Agree totally CS. At least they have another Division title banner to raise next year.

Caps have now tied the series with a 4-1 win. Trotz should've started Holtby from the start!
Home teams are 0-4 in the series.

Nicklas Backstrom with the OT game-winner, giving the Caps a 3-2 series lead, and the first home win of the series.

Caps finish off the Blue Jackets 6-3, winning 4 straight after losing the first 2 at home. They seemed to have righted the ship after putting Hotlby back in net. Since his return, they not only won 4 straight, but killed off 16 straight penalties.
So here we go again! Caps play the Pens, who look very vulnerable. Will this year be different? Caps are a lifetime 1-9 vs. the Pens in these playoff series.

3 goals in less than 5 minutes is all it took. Grubaur will be in the net sooner than later. Fans were chanting "Murray", should have been chanting "Holtby".

Tom Wilson is the biggest POS in the NHL. He is a bigger, badder (not in a good way) version of Marchand and Cooke, all wrapped up in one. Parros was in attendance. We'll see if he sticks up for his fellow goon.

If the POS Tom Wilson is not suspended this time, I’m done following anything NHL for the rest of these playoffs. There is no way you break a guys jaw, concuss him, and get off scott free. Player safety in the NHL is a contradiction in terms.

I get to continue watching because the POS has been told to sit for the next 3. I personally think he should sit out as long as his victim but I’ll have to make due with 3.

The games were starting to get chippy. With Wilson out, maybe both teams will now get down to business.

A team shouldn't be allowed to replace a suspended player. Make the team play shorthanded.
