8.61 miles 18,637 steps 155 minutes Dew Point - 68 Phew!
Mornin', reb. You said it! I cut my walk a little short because of the humidity. Had my annual physical on Wed, opthalmologist checkup on Thursday, and dentist next week. Then I should be good for another couple thousand miles.

Took a few days off for a BBQ and to cook lasagna. Plan to walk today to drop the weight gain.

Back to hiking this week. Burn calories. Fell victim to the Labor Day food sales. Buying, grilling, and eating. Stocked my fridge and freezer for pennies. Took four days off from hiking. Did drive to NH's Diana's Baths to walk in the forest path and see the beauty of the waterfalls. Here's a youtube drone view of the falls.

MS - I wish I was at Diana's Baths with my feet in the cold water right now. Nice video.

Not gonna miss those steamers. Moved far north in the mtns to avoid as many as possible. Days may get hot. Nights get nicely cool. Open the windows and gather the cool air all night. Capture the air by closing the windows in the morning. Diana's Baths is so popular that town had to stop overcrowded parking on the sides of that country road. Bt 9 AM all the spots in the parking lot are fill.
No real miles since Friday. Going to get out and tramp some miles.

Did get out yesterday. Took Reo for his trot around the mountain. Autumn colors are increasing every day. Peak here is the last week of Sept into the first week of Oct. Color can last past Columbus Day, if no rain or high winds. Oct sees both in these mtns.
4¼ miles w/a rise of 650'. It's a fab workout!

Walked at the local park this morning so I wouldn't be too far from shelter in case it stormed. It didn't. The park has a little (0.8 mile) walking track around the perimeter, with lots of dips and turns, but I still find it boring going around in "circles". I think there's a flash flood watch until Tuesday. My rain jacket folds into one of its pockets and clips onto a belt loop with a carabiner. Packed like that it's not too much bigger than a Burger King Whopper. Very handy.

Have returned to the loop hike around the mtn road Have yard work and remodelling to finish. No time for a drive to the 1400 trailheads in three states to get in real hike. That should happen late winter and early next spring. Colors are beginning on the leaves. Autumn is on the way.

Was out west last week and discovered my tracking doesn't work when no cell service... So I lost out on my tracking on trails and in national parks.
Yesterday (in civilization).
9.5 Miles, 22,561 steps, temps in lower 60's
Weekly totals (that registered),
avg. 4.1 Miles, 10,710 steps

4¼ mi w/a rise of 650' Took the mtn loop road over any other choice of places to hike No need to drive to a trailhead. Once got caught in a downpour w/o my pack & rain gear. An open porch was my shelter for 30 m. Porch had old sleds, skis, and a turkey headdress on the wall. PS,Gal not included!

8.58 miles 16,143 steps 139 minutes 56F / 92% RH Light rain to Cloudy
Lots o' rain yesterday and especially heavy overnight. Got some added exercise on the neighborhood park trail kicking downed branches off to the side, big ones first, then smaller with every successive lap. Pretty much had the whole park to myself. No one else crazy enough to be out in the cold rain. But I was smart enough to skip the part of the walk along the busy highway.
reb - Sounds like you were really off the beaten path last week. Our National Parks are quite a treasure, aren't they? MS - Yep, that rain/wind jacket was a comfortable addition to this morning's trek.
