Researched RV's for several months before settling on the RBR Mini Cruiser. Flew to Boston's Logan Airport, then took my dad's car for a drive to RV dealerships. Offered 17,300 for the brand new 1982 Toyota extended chassis. Knew it had a MSRP of $22,500. Dealer made 2 grand and I save 5 grand. Win Win!
Class A RV's average about 8-10 miles per gallon, with a typical fuel tank holding 100-150 gallons. At $2.50-$4 a gallon, a fill-up could cost $250-$600 and last 800-1,500 miles. Have asked RV owners their mileage. Many said 6 mpg. Some said about 4. Before you buy, check out the insurance cost. It's a killer.
At 22 or more mpg and $600 a year (then) for packed to the hilt insur, it can be parked on any street. Plus it was gentle on toll roads being an RV.
Fun like being a teenager again. Shower, cook, and sleep anywhere. Went w/the 20 footer as it was highly economical.

Sounds like a great deal! I don't plan on traveling with it much for now anyways. I still have to work about 12 years. I'm still not sure what I will do for retirement, if I make it that long! LOL

Guess my travelling cross country in the 80's and 90's got it out of my system. No real itching to get on the road again. Found my homestead, cleared a building site by hand and constructed my house from the ground up. Moved here after my mortgage was paid off in 1989. Here for the duration. Love these mtns. NH leads the nation in percent tree cover (89 percent), followed by Maine (83 percent) and Vermont (82 percent), according to the USDA. Adore having not a sound nor neighbors for a half mile. Have become an outdoorsman leaving the city life 29 y/a.

Speaking of which, how is remodeling coming?

Remodeling is on hold. Lowe's truck can't use my soaked and soggy driveway to deliver the $4,000 of stock and fixtures. The gravel road is now posted at a 6 ton limit. 6 wheelers in the area are all being used. Prefer a 10 wheeler to tail spread two 15 yard loads. Will be two weeks or more before the load limit ban is lifted. Getting out cheap with 30 yards spread for $600+/-

Good morning! Visited Hunters Hollow, KY via the internet. Really liked Brooks. That's my idea of paradise. Ordered 30 yds of gravel to be delivered the end of the week It'll be tail spread on my driveway. What's new? This is new.
