October 9 I made my milestone! My triple platelet to NYBC took me to a lifetime total of 600 units, and just within 11 years of first donating a platelet & plasma combo.

Watching ALCS postgame coverage. Astros won the best of seven.
My brain popped out a vintage memory. I went to college in the middle of the 1970s. At that time, the World Series games were played in the afternoon. The TV-watching room in the student commons was across the hall from where they had the blood drive. Remember listening to the World Series while doing stuff at the blood drive. It was moreso when I started helping out at the blood drives. Usually labeling empty blood bags or carrying filled ones to a central table for further processing. At first, I was surprised at how warm the bags felt.
Another vintage memory was when I donated and I walked in my dorm room when my roommate started to play Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon." In my mind, it was tied to donation. Even to the point where I'd come home and play it after I donated and was retired.

I received an email from my employer's foundation that they paid out a donation to New York Blood Center based on my charity hours in blood donations.

Did my platelets donation last Saturday, another triple. 612 units now donated.
I had an upper endoscopy on Tuesday, it'll be a couple of weeks before the results of the biopsy sample tests come back.

Donated from 1973 to 2020. Can't donate any more because of congestive heart failure. Put up with being poked in the finger for a hemoglobin check 240 times. Now that I'm no longer donating, the blood bank rolls out a non-invasive hemoglobin check. They describe it like having a blood pressure cuff put on your index finger.

Cannot donate because I take diuretics for congestive heart failure. Still get E-mail from the blood bank asking me to come in and donate.
