So far the 2018 Nationals appear to be underachievers. With a record of 42-42, they trail the Braves by 7 games and the Phillies by 4 1/2 games in the NL East. They trail 6 teams in the Wild Card race.

The Nationals have signed Patrick Corbin to a 6 year contract for $140 million.

The Nationals have also signed loser Trevor Rosenthal to a one-year contract. Rosenthal will provide the Nationals with many losses with bad pitching.
Mike Rizzo, General Manager of the Washington Nationals, is due for a lobotomy for signing Rosenthal.
