Hiya Doc, What’s shakin’?
WRINC, It’ rare for people now to have friendships that long. My Mom had a best friend from kindergarten too. In fact, they were such good friends the families got together several times a year. I still get invited to get-togethers with her kids. It’s nice that they include me.

Good morning everyone,
My wife's friend says she likes staying here more than staying at the other friend's. This pleases my wife.
Light rain all day yesterday, maybe the same for today. No boating.
Chinese food for dinner last night, always goes over big. Good, because it's a 45 min. drive each way to get it.

DG, my oldest buddy was another "Jimmy" I grew up with in Alabama. Most of the time after high school, we kept in touch, but only together in the latter years a couple of times at HS reunions. He was a couple years younger than I, but he died in GA a few years ago --- one of those lucky ducks who have no real problems, but just go to sleep one night and don't wake up. I've had two others who did that, too.
Probably the closest old friend was my Air Force buddy from Wisconsin, Vern Pinkowsky. We met at Lackland AFB in the fifties and kept in touch and even met in Arkansas once for a week's visit at Warm Springs Resort. What a guy! Vern got me started with college and we both ended up in education. He retired as a school superintendent and I as a school principal. Somehow I always buddied with people a lot smarter than I, and now I know that was a good thing. That includes females, too. My best friend here for over 40 years now has been my next-door neighbor, Jo Ann, whom I still call on anytime I have something to do that I can't figure out. Jo Ann has never failed me yet. No wonder her son is a top-ranking professor at Rice University, huh?
Ahh, well...made it through another night and now I'm HONGRY!
Later, Y'all....

WRINC, Don’t know about up there but it didn’t start raining on the east side of town until after 3 this morning. Glad I don’t have to water again.
45 minutes for Chinese food? Wow that’s a long drive.
Doc, I seem to remember you mentioning Jo Ann from our GB days. I have a neighbor that I consider a friend. They lived next door when I was a kid. Before that they lived across the street from where they live now. We kind of look out for one another.

Good morning everyone,
I had to go to Alexandria for a couple of things, and that's where this restaurant is.
Might get a bit more rain today. The weathercritters say there's a 50% chance. I should get my tabs for the Explorer and sign up for boat storage. NOW it seems that this Summer is going by quickly.

Hi Doc, Hope your day is going well.
WRINC, I kind of thought that may have been were you went. I have relatives that live in and around Alex. You’re right, the summer has gone way too fast. Must have been all the rain we had earlier. The plus side of that seems to be that there are almost no spinners on the maple trees this year.

Good morning everyone,
And the squirrels are already harvesting acorns that were shook loose by all of the wind. The acorns are still green.
No rain for a couple of days. Not sure, but I hope that boating is on the schedule.

Doc, Hope your day gets better.
WRINC, It rained here overnight the grass is still a little wet but it’s nice that it’s cooler today. Interesting about the squirrels going after the green acorns.

Good morning everyone,
We finally got out on the boat for a nice ride. Perfect launch and landing. That never happens when we have friends aboard.
Nice again today, but I should mow the lawn. Going out tonight with the AZ couple to a tribute concert in Fergus Falls.

Good day.
Made it through another rough night. Had sugar low right in the big middle and had to eat candy and drink chocolate milk. STILL didn't raise the sugar enough, so I'm not a very sweet guy today.
Strangely, all my troubles partly result in not really ever being thirsty, so sometimes I get dehydrated and that's big troubles. ANYway, today I've got two bottles of "diet" tea on my desk and I'll drink those no matter what.
Hope you're all well and happy. I'll get by.

Good morning everyone,
The concert was a bust. It was only the husband that was there, and he disappeared for almost an hour, right away. We didn't like the music, but couldn't leave until he returned. He said he was going to stay, and we told him we were leaving. He did come with us, but I think he was a bit agitated. We'll see how it goes today.

I am here. We started working on the outside of the house Saturday, had over 20 guys and three women (Wife and daughters} working on it. This place was built in 1889, remodeled about 1920 and 1950. It was wwwwaaaayyyyyy overdue for another makeover. We got a lot more done than I thought we would get done. I did the back porch last year by myself. This year the old siding is coming off, insulation is going on, new siding, mostly new windows (except one picture window in the living room and two windows in our bedroom that I have already replaced) and both front porches are being redone. There is a lot of little things happening too, like a kitchen vent.
About 20 years ago I had a couple of guys come over and I taught (I think) a Chinese theoretical physicist how do do a brake job. I told them to drive south on Sampson Street about five blocks and find the ugliest house on the block. They turned right in my driveway. The guy was fascinated and the next thing I knew he had done five brake jobs for his Chinese friends.
Anyway, that's what I've been up to.

WRINC, He’ll probably get over it.
Doc, They say as you age you lose your sense of thirst.
Baron, When you’re done with your place you can come up here and help me with mine.
