A is for Aspen trees (Which only grow successfully at higher elevations in the mountains. They propagate by sending out underground "shoots" that surface some amount of distance away from the parent tree. It's thought that groves of Aspens are actually a colony of trees that were started by one or two parent trees. At lower elevations, Aspens don't have the lifespan of their higher elevation brethren).
