There was a fifth Beatle. Not drummer Pete Best, not even producer George Martin, PR manager Derek Taylor, or road manager Neil Aspinall. It was Stuart Sutcliffe. This Scottish painter and bassist was an original member of the Beatles (way back in the day the teens were called the Silver Beatles) when they were just a club act in Hamburg, Germany. There, he met his fiancée, Astrid Kirchherr, and decided to stay behind to be with her. Only a year later, he suffered a brain hemorrhage and died at the age of 21. Meanwhile, his former bandmates would go on to become the most popular musicians in history. Who knew?

Who Knew???
All dog owners, remember that February 23rd is National Dog Biscuit Day! This day is also observed around the world as International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day.
Dog biscuits come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and flavors. They serve to reward a man’s best friend for good behavior as part of their training. Dog owners may also give a biscuit to show their canine companions just how much they love them, too. Sometimes, dog biscuits serve to deliver vitamins and medicines we may have difficulty getting our pooches to take otherwise.

Who Knew???National Chili Day on the fourth Thursday in February honors one of America’s favorite winter dishes–chili. It’s also known as chili con carne (chili with meat). Chili is most commonly made up of tomatoes, beans, chili peppers, meat, garlic, onions, and cumin. However, cooks offer up so many variations to the basic chili recipe. And, with so many varieties, chili cook-off competitions love to feature chili as a favored entry.

A tough pup named Skipper is believed to be the first dog with six legs to be born alive — and she continues to thrive. Skipper the Aussie and Collie mix made her debut at Neel Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma City on Feb 21, 2021, born with six legs and two tails. She has duplicate organs basically from her waist down, and they all seem to be functioning. Skipper was rejected by her mother, which is how she wound up with Dr. Neel, who, amazingly, found nothing majorly wrong with the pup. Skipper will likely need some physical therapy as she continues to grow and gets used to walking around on six paws. Who knew?
