The world’s smallest wasp is tinier than most one-cell amoebas. The Megaphragma mymaripenne wasp has muscles, guts, wings, eyes, a brain, and genitals. However, this teeny-tiny insect—which is the smallest wasp in the world and the third smallest insect in the world—measures around 200 micrometers, which is a fifth of a millimeter and smaller than many one-cell amoebas. Who knew?

National Indian Pudding Day recognizes a cold-weather classic. On November 13th each year, serve up this traditional New England dessert that's sure to wow.
In the seventeenth century, English colonists brought hasty puddingto North America, transforming it. Although they initially made the pudding with wheat, due to a shortage of grain, the colonists eventually used cornmeal.
Since the colonists had learned to cultivate maize (corn) from the indigenous peoples, the crop was readily available. The colonists derived the name for Indian pudding from their name for cornmeal - Indian meal. They also replaced the water with milk. For added flavor, cooks add either molasses or maple syrup. Other ingredients they added include cinnamon, ground ginger, butter, eggs, raisins, and nuts.
They then slowly baked the Indian pudding for several hours. Baking transforms the pudding's texture from the original porridge-like quality ofhasty pudding to a much smoother consistency which is more typical of custard.

November 13, 1956, In Browder v. Gayle, the Supreme Court strikes down Alabama laws requiring racial segregation on public buses. The high court rules these laws violate the 14th Amendment, which provides for equal protection under the law. The Montgomery Bus Boycott will end soon after the decision.

Peas are a popular pizza topping in Brazil. People in North America are fairly faithful to pepperoni pizza, but in Brazil, you'll be able to find pizza with green peas on it. And in Germany, you'll find pizza topped with seafood, such as canned tuna. Who knew?

November 15, 1864, Union General William T. Sherman and his troops torch the captured city of Atlanta, leaving it a smoldering ruin before riding out to begin their five-week march through Georgia to the port of Savannah. In their wake, they'll leave a trail of destroyed industry, ransacked private property, and a huge number of refugees.

Who Knew?? The full moon is a whole-Earth event. And every full moon is opposite the sun, rising when the sun sets and setting when the sun rises. At full moon, the sun, Earth, and moon form a line in space, with Earth in the middle. It’s at this time that the moon’s fully lighted hemisphere – its day side – faces Earth most directly. November full moon is Beaver or Frosty Moon All the full moons have popular nicknames. If the full moon in November falls before November 7, it’s called the Hunter’s Moon. Otherwise, as in 2024, you can call November’s full moon the Beaver Moon, or Frosty Moon. That’s because in November, North American beavers are preparing their dens – and stocking up on food – for the coming cold months. We also hear the name Digging Moon for this November full moon, because it’s the last chance for seasonal foraging by forest animals. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4CISOB5pWU&t=75s
