If you have macular degeneration, you need a very large font to be able to see at all. Please folks, don't be so quick to cast the first stone. However, if you do need to use a large font, it would be polite, after you've made any corrections or edits, to reduce the font size just before posting.
As l said l do have macular degeneration. I wear computer glasses and l enlarge the print on MY COMPUTER as recommended by CampKohler in beginners section on that.. so l don't change anything on this thread or on the site at all so l don't have to reduce the font size before posting, as you don't know the difference. See ? l just enlarged it on my computer again at the word difference, yet no change here.

Some of these advanced concepts are... just... too... hard... to... grasp. They need to be reinterated... rinterated... retinerated... uh, repeated over and over again until it sinks in.

of course, if you truly want to save space, you could have stated your opinion once instead of beating it to death.

IMO some of the posters do not read the introduction or threads explaining this site. I do as l am a rule follower, l do check back once in awhile also to see if anything is new. I like this site and thank CampKohler for setting it up so l can keep in touch with the friends l have made on the old place. I was never really there for prices as l don't buy that much gas anyway, and always go to the same place to buy it.
I imagine that occasional large posts are just fine, just not every one of them. Right?

This is just one of those issues that there will never be agreement on by the factions.
Those of us who like to vary font sizes -- MultiFonters if you will, or MFers for short! -- for all the reasons stated above and probably many more, don't see it as a politeness issue. MFers see control freaks dictating unnecessary rules, creating problems where none exist. MFers know that the SingleFonters (SFers) can read MFers' posts but don't want to. They could just as easily adjust the print to their preference, but instead insist that the MFers march to their beat:
Those who discriminate against multiple fonts and colors in favor of a single small font that MFers struggle to read and the boring single color typeface are going to see MFers as being unreasonable.
Quite a few MFers whose eyes have started to abandon them probably would consider it polite if everyone used fonts they could see without adjustment. If you're young and can read the fine print, just be happy and know that if you're lucky enough to survive a while, you may come to understand. Everyone can adjust the type if they don't like how it presents and the younger set is generally way better with the keyboard anyway. So one person's polite is another's crass.
My perception of the general GB community was that there was a far higher average age than you see at most websites or in public places that are not senior centers. Other creative types have been stuck in the boring GB forums. It's like there was a tornado on March 27th, our house landed here, we walk out and see color and now someone wants to make us go back to black and white.

I use an iPad and sorry, but I LOVE 💕 being able to use different fonts and colors. I am farsighted, have astigmatism, wear bifocals and just plain have older eyes. The small font is difficult to read in any post. Maybe it’s childish, but I don’t always want to an oldster. Our median age is higher than most sites ( time to survey CampKohler) but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun does it ?

Also, I love that we now can add pics and graphics... to quote SUVfan, we can’t go back to black and white. Even Kansas got colorized (My favorite movie of ALL time - The Wizard of Oz ).

"I'll get you my pretty, and your little vlog, too."

The only thing that age, macular degeneration, cataracts, farsightedness has anything to do with this is the inability or unwillingness to change your own computer to fit your needs. Instead the choice was taken to force it upon others when everything was just fine and dandy before when things were the same size. Perhaps the best solution was really to have a font size switch on the webpage that will make all text set to the larger size - the equivalent of setting your own computer to fit your needs. Now in this example post I'll demonstrate a worst case scenario: can you even read this? I am sure you'll find this as annoying to read as I do. Having everything the default size is actually the compromise - those who wish it smaller changes their own computer to make it smaller. Those that want it bigger, do the same. However if it comes through the computer that some things are big and other things are small, someone has to compromise. Let me tell you, I don't want tiny text either. I just don't want to see text that look like this to grab attention - and also where every other posting I need to either scroll more or have to change font size because the post I want to skip is using the whole screen due to the ridiculous font size. So what did you do to read this? I would agree, I'd simply ignore it, but it's still annoying to scroll past it. But you must agree this is an egregious way to post? Yes this was done via a computer program. A few lines bourne shell scripting was able to generate this spew.

A magnificent display of puke-inducing, mind-bending graphics. I'm sure there is something in there that will cause hundreds—if not thousands—of Manchurian Candidates to awaken one day from their brain-washed fugues, stumble out into the street, and do their damnedest to... to... Well, I don't know what they'll do, but I can tell you it won't be pretty! And you won't like it one little bit! Nosirree Bob!

I really apologize for that text, sorry. I hope:
1) Nobody asks me how I did that without screwing up the bbcode once (read the last sentence.) 2) Nobody really wants to do that. Really. What I did was incomprehensible.
The easy way to read that if you want to bother reading it, I sure wouldn't bother: cut and paste it. Fortunately it strips out the garbage. But I figure most won't bother despite it's "just an extra step."

What I did was incomprehensible. No apology necessary. It was a great opportunity to illustrate how easy it is to modify what someone else posts. No, with this system and even such an extreme example, just hit the quote button, highlight the entire post, select a black font (or something else that's dark, and then pick your font size (I prefer 12 point) and it's quickly very readable.

CK, I think you need to institute a new rule...No post allowed unless you are a member...so people can block the nonsense.

Love the fonts, colors, and size selections.
Can we discuss adding the plugin so last post is first? Please.
