Noticed today I had to re-login to the GasBuddy main website. First time I've had to do that in years. When I did I was greeted with a totally different site. I no longer see anything relating to users and the site seems to have gone all business. Am I missing something? I didn't/don't see anything on here about it. Is the old site gone for good? No more news articles? No more comments?

mine is still the same, i just checked . there is new news for today. so nothing has changed here in Arizona
Update: if you Google gas buddy, you do see a link to another site. this is just what you said. there is nothing there but prices and a "blog" of news. looks like the future of "gasbuddy" I wonder how long until the old sites are taken down? As of tonight the "arizonagasprices.com"web site is still up .....but for how long?

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I was able to log into arizonagasprices.com and update my backup of gas purchases since 2005.
Just copy and paste produces a text file that can be imported into a spreadsheet.

Upon further testing, the massachusettsgasprices.com website is the only one I find that has made the jump to hyperspace, with no path back to the old gasbuddy. Perhaps this is a test because GB HQ is now in Massachusetts. Who else sees the new GB site instead of their "normal" one?

Thanks for the report guys!. The makeover of the massachusettsgasprices.com was what I expected was going to happen when GB announced that the forums were going away.
As of now, my home site of columbusgasprices.com as well as ohiogasprices.com and the other local GB sites in Ohio, are unchanged. But I bet the Massachusetts site is the future of GB.

Thanks, bugc, for that report. When I typed "www.massachusettsgasprices.com" into my browser I was redirected to "www.gasbuddy.com/GasPrices/Massachusetts", with a page as described in this thread by others.
To the right side of the page, there's a list of all 50 states, each of which appears to have the same formatting as Massachusetts. Note also that near the bottom of the page, there's a list of Massachusetts cities. When I checked the /Ohio site, there was a list of all current Ohio GB cities. They also have a list of all 88 Ohio counties.
I went back to the GB article that several of us have been posting to daily (or so) since 3/27 and tried overwriting "massachusetts" over "ohio" in my browser address for the article. It took me back to the same new "home" page for Massachusetts.
It definitely looks like GB as we knew it is about done.
Edit: Recall that the for the two plus months leading up to the shutdown, there were a number of local sites that had the current "defects" and folks thought there was something broken. We compiled a list of them in a TBTU topic and tried to help folks find a workaround. Back then, if you were signed into a different site, you could just type the local site 4 digit forum code into your browser over whatever forum you were in, and you could post in the local forum. This new move by GB appears to be a complete makeover with no workaround.

Does the new site have private messaging...I would think not, as they are in facebook. I think they felt there would be a lawsuit someday at all the reported ugly posters. Too much for them to manage and they just wanted us to post prices. One person told me he could put up prices and they were changed almost immediately as gas stations got tired of the reports on their bathrms and so on, so they now have them report and it also was gas station economical power. They were tired of changing their prices to match the lowest price in town. Now, in small towns gas prices all appear to be the same again. Kind of defeats the purpose of gas buddy because as I travel prices will not be accurate. Nice to do this before the summer rush to vacation.

So far no changes to the Los Angeles GB log in page.
I was recently in the Pacific Northwest. For what it's worth, most of the prices at the stations and on the app were accurate. Until I see otherwise, I will continue to use the app.

"one ugly web site" These people don't care about a web site they only care about a smart phone APP. I do know what keeps them up at night...........WE ARE THERE PROBLEM. they want us to go away...but they need us ...but they hate us......but they need us........Prices, how do we get prices without public input? ?Hmmmmmmm. nothing like the "good old days" when i really felt like i was needed AND wanted........

A post in a GB topic I use most days to get some or all of my message and news points suggests that google searches for [State, Province Or City]gasprices.com takes you to the new Gasbuddy.com/[State, Province Or City] page. I checked it out for Columbus, searching " Columbus gas prices". I did not get a hit for Columbusgasprices.com -- I got hits for Gasbuddy.com/Columbus and Gasbuddy.com/Ohio/Columbus. But, when I tried putting www.columbusgasprices.com in my browser with the paste & go chrome feature, it took me straight to the familiar Columbus site. I tried the same searches for Indiana with the same results. So their clearly pointing new traffic to the new site and its subsidiary pages, while they're still allowing us direct access to the sites if we type the address into our browsers. If I get a chance, I'll experiment after clearing cookies sometime.

Does the new site have private messaging...I would think not, as they are in facebook. I think they felt there would be a lawsuit someday at all the reported ugly posters. Too much for them to manage and they just wanted us to post prices. I see no sign of anything resembling our typical profiles there, no means to access the buddy message system, and no replacement. On the About Us page, they have this subheading: Connecting drivers with their Perfect Pit Stop™. That tells us what the current marketing plan is. They want to partner with C store operators to provide drivers with the information that draws traffic to the c stores. cactusbob is right, to an extent at least, that GB currently needs us as a resource for prices, but I have to say that the most common GB partner that I post regularly -- Pilot/Flying J -- has GB Direct posts showing up at least every hour it seems. At the Pilot/Flying J stations I post, the GB Direct prices are correct and consistent with the prices I see when I compare what's being reported on their website. The place I see disparity is that Pilot/Flying J offers a lower cash price for diesel and the GB station is set up for cash and credit prices. Regular, midgrade and premium cash and credit prices are always the same there. But whoever does the GB Direct reporting for them only reports the credit prices for the gasoline and both prices for diesel (I presume they post the diesel cash price -- you can't see the cash poster IDs on the app). So often you'll see a different cash gasoline price. Without price spotters (or I suppose a change in reporting practice by whoever posts the GB Direct prices), that's going to continue to be a problem.

I am also very disappointed with the redesign. I have found a few working links at then.gasbuddy.com.
The news forum seems to be gone. The city/state rankings are gone. The polls are gone. The Master Station List appears to be gone. There is no longer much or any reason to log on the the GB website.
The Virginia site appears to be gone. The former page for my local area is gone. It only shows the top 10 stations for price, most of which are the same price. Looks like GB is trying to force all spotters to the app.
The link provided by SUVFan leads to his topic, and from there to what's left of the news forum. We will see how long it lasts.
Thanks to the moderators of this forum for keeping the conversation going!
