I hate to disappoint you, GasHole, but all I saw were all the Murphy USA and Murphy Express having their phone number formats changed from dashes to parentheses - my preferred format, but not GasBuddy's - very similar to one of the things that happened with the BP's. My money (if I were a betting man) would be on their becoming more entrenched in the program. (Ah, but I wouldn't complain if I were proven wrong!)

Yes, there hasn't been a consistent phone number formatting from GBV in recent years - but when I joined GB in late '12 (well before GBV) and the years following, senior membership (especially active MSL members) and staff that answered their questions had settled on a consensus of using all dashes. That was published, but in MSL-oriented forum topics - which of course went away with the rest of the forums. That's why I think of other formats as a violation of the rules. It could be actually a tacit rule change - tacit because nobody bothered to promulgate it to the MSL edit page, help pages, and so forth. Nevertheless, my mind tends to operate on the principle that a rule is a rule until it's changed (sort of like Newton's "body in motion").
As for parentheses, I tend to prefer that because that's how I learned to write phone numbers when I was a school-aged kid learning about phone numbers, as well as what I saw into young adulthood. That simply signals to me that the digits I'm looking at are a phone number in the quickest and easiest way; the other ways are foreign to me and my mind has to go through an interpretation step. Those characters aren't "extra" to me, just simply a part of the number; their absence means they're missing. Perhaps I'm a bit old-fashioned in that regard?
As for the latter Murphy station - it never did get on the Verified program. It was just one of several unintentional misses that somehow fell under their radar. (Ironic that you should use it as an example; it's the one closest to my home "as the crow flies.")

By the way, GasHole, did you know you could hide a duplicate station by giving it the exact same GPS coordinates as an active station, and thus declutter the MSL map? I did that with a duplicate from Port St Lucie, FL that you placed in the Virginia countryside where I'll be going this weekend or the next. I saw it on the map as part of my ride planning.

RaceTrac at 8630 US-1. The 'duplicate' was 193069, and the active one is 194313. (Notice that I didn't say 'original.') I figured I'd limit the scope of my involvement to (mostly) my immediate problem and not mess with the situation too much.
I'm intrigued: does the FCC tool tell you anything that the map/satellite picture on the MSL page doesn't?

Oh, I see - twinkling put it in the wrong place to begin with; my apologies. I'd just seen so many closed and duplicate stations moved to weird places left over from the old days (before my time and before anyone knew you could hide duplicates) that I assumed it's what happened there too. I didn't look closely enough at who made what updates. (One particularly bad example is 142633 - a closed Kingsport, TN station plunked into the mountains of NC and then locked. I knew I wouldn't get any help moving it off that part of the map, so I just said "The heck with it" and moved on.)
As for PG stations: In my neck of the woods, most of the time the "located from address" coordinates aren't precise, but they're in the ballpark and I don't mess with them until I actually visit one of those places - unless, again, I find one where I've just been or am about to go that clearly belongs elsewhere (or one that belongs there, but is elsewhere at the moment). I use the Google Maps satellite pictures through the GB MSL to place those more precisely - most often at the E0 pump if that's apart from the main canopy.

Hey - thanks for cleaning that up for me! What did you do besides enter the correct latitude and longitude, and hit the save button?
-------
Ah, I see - when that user deleted all the data, it somehow interfered with being able to move the marker. Hmmm...

Usually when I'm just moving a pre-deleted duplicate, I only bother with the location - though another user told me that if you duplicate all the information exactly, it'll sort to the bottom in the list on the MSL page. I couldn't get that to come out that way, and I figured it wasn't worth the extra keystrokes anyway since I always just use the map. But the next time something like this happens (the station appears locked when I try to do that), I'll definitely add that to my bag of tricks.
Google Maps acually tells you the latitude and longitude instantly when you right-click on a point - but while it seems to work better and faster than even what you've described above, I'll stick with the instant feedback on changes I get with the MSL view when I make changes for gas station purposes (including pure-gas). Of course, if they ever do take the MSL away, I think I'll find some other hobby anyway, but I digress...
-------
Ah, I see: If you click on the coordinates it gives, they get copied to the clipboard. Potentially useful indeed!

I tried clicking on the icon, then on the street and it worked - but I always think it's more fun to drop the little man on the road an have him take a look around (as it were). I've never had a problem placing Street View where I want it to go - but it always (at least mostly) seems to face the opposite way from what I want to look at. I wonder if there's a trick to that. I tried dropping in or clicking from various angles, and it seems to have no effect.
As for BJ's - all the ones I've been to in order to do price reports, MSL updates, and so forth seem to indicate they sell to members only - or at least, that's the message I get from their signage. The Sam's in Greensboro, NC actually has three levels of pricing: one for non-members, a lower one for non-members using a Walmart or Sam's gift card, and the lowest one for folks with a Sam's membership card. But yeah, all the others I've seen are 'members only.'

Hmmm...7-Eleven just bought Speedway, but hasn't changed a one of them that I've seen. Either they're taking a breath before taking a dive in, or they've decided Speedway is more valuable as it is. In the meantime, 7-Eleven has built several new locations from scratch in NC the past year or two.
BP, on the other hand, has relinquished a lot of Circle K's in prime locations, but taken over several small-chain stores in out-of-the way places. What's up with that?

The merger won't be complete for quite some time, that's likely at earliest 6-12 months away, more likely 12-24 months due the size of acquisition

Murphy USA/Murphy Express is now off the Verified program. I have some notes saved up, but don't know when I'll get to them because my work has been quite busy lately. In the meantime, KrispyKreme has fixed the GPS coordinates in Virginia.

Systematically went through the NC Murphy USA and Murphy Express last night and the night before fixing locations and phone number formats, as well as restoring the ZIP+4's (mostly my edits to begin with) on those that used to have them. It felt great!

How does one add the logo to a station? I cannot find it in the app nor the MSL.

It's in the app, but not labeled as such. At the bottom of the station details page, tap the "suggest a station edit" link (it's actually in ALL CAPS but I'll spare my readers the assault on your eyeballs). Under "info," enter the fuel brand (and optionally, the store brand); available logos will come up as automatic suggestions (names, not pictures) as you type. (Some logos aren't available to suggest; many, they simply don't have.) After you've made your selection(s), tap the "submit" link at the upper right. Do this morning and evening for two or three days (sometimes more) and the link will appear. If others have made enough suggestions, it'll get on instantly.

I had thought of that but the logo is only missing on one of several area GetGo's in my area and the fuel brand is not populated (nor store brand) on the stations that do have the logo. I checked today and GetGo is not in the drop-downs of brands.
Should I try it multiple times daily anyway? I thought it took at least 2 members to suggest an edit before it would take in the app.
