I see in the Gasbuddy app reports submitted by the stations themselves which used to show as 'GB Direct' are now showing with the reporter name as 'Owner'

I suspect it was changed because some posters may have thought "GasBuddy Direct" prices were directly entered by GasBuddy staff. This makes it clearer who is actually entering these prices.

This makes it clearer who is actually entering these prices. It may also improve the accuracy of the price posts. While posts for the stations I routinely report that show "Owner" reports appear to be accurate and reliable, I remember a ton of complaints from folks who often found them to be inaccurate. I'd think being identified as an owner (probably often an employee assigned to update the prices) would cause them to be more responsible.

If I understand it correctly, GB will now be tracking your trips unless you turn off your location on your phone. I personally have enough Big Brothers! I stopped Google maps from tracking my every move.

The "Owner" of the Casey's in Park Hills, Missouri that I drove past several minutes ago posted within the hour that diesel is $1.95 per gallon, yet the sign in front of the store and fuel pumps clearly shows diesel at $2.35. If my vehicle ran on diesel, I could have some fun by going inside of the store, use my phone to show the Casey's employees the "Owner" price post, and then demand that they sell me diesel at $1.95 per gallon.
