It took 3 days for someone to post. And that someone is me. Why can't I get excited about this team?

It's a new site, not even 300 members yet, and MLB is still in spring training. You want to get excited when it's 20° out there w/snow on the ground. Best the Sox stay in Florida until April..

I'm with admiral. Not very excited. But I AM excited about Cora. He's on record as saying the following:
No taking first pitch strikes to run up pitch counts. If the first pitch is down the middle mash it. How many times have we seen Sox hitters down 0-2 to start an at bat by taking the first two pitches.
No more obsessive lefty righty alternating in the batting order. The best hitters will hit where they're best suited. Regardless.
The best relievers will pitch when they are needed most not just in slots like setup or closer. If the closer is needed in the 7th in the right situation to get some crucial outs he'll pitch the 7th.
And today I read that he'll sub for a guy he thinks is starting to slump rather than the previous manager who would let a JBJ go 0-60 and ride out a slump.

With the Red Sox in 2nd place overall in spring training, the Sox are showing their stuff fast. They have a strong rotation w/a slew of contenders and top closers. Superb players such as Xander Bogaerts, Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Benintendi, Devers, Ramirez, Nunez, Vazquez and the other greats will propel the team. Looking forward to Dustin Pedroia returning in June after recovering from a cartilage restoration procedure, and a great season of baseball at Fenway Park and on the road. Am so sick of seeing snow and storm after storm this month. Want to see some green and hear the crack of the bat hitting the ball.

Cora made another statement yesterday that peaked my man crush on him. He was talking about his final decisions on the pitching staff and said it was going to be about stuff not how many righties or lefties they will have.

Then he goes out and proves it with his final roster including two unheralded rookies making the team.

I'm disappointed that Ssmith hasn't shown up on GBO. He always provided a lot of insight about the Red Sox on the old forum.

Personal messaging is still available at the dark side of the net. Maybe a personal invite by a friend.

I forgot he was a friend of mine as well. I also sent him an invite. That might be a good thing to do on our buddy lists to personally invite people over here from the old site. As long as that light is still on it's worth a try.

Upon Fresh's urging, I'm finally signed on here. I am still disappointed the "dark side" is gone for good. I'm not sure this team is going to be finishing with second best team in the majors, but let's face facts. They do have a good deal of talent overall, and with Cora as manager they are sure to be on their toes. He promises to change up the lineup almost constantly.
Do you guys realize the Astros last year only had the same lineup a few times? The most consistent lineup 1-9 was only in use four times. Amazing when I learned that, and you'll see that by using guys like Betts hitting first and Benintendi hitting second, he'll have a Moreland batting cleanup, and he'll be changing it up a lot I imagine. This is not going to look like the same team day to day, as it won't be the same lineup.
Thanks Tes, Zim, hopefully I can find this again. But wait, no points? Anyway, no idea how this will go long term, but this is my first post.

Good to see fresh, Tes, Zim and now Smitty. Where is Logic? Overdosing on the chowder?

I still find it hard to believe tomorrow is Opening Day for most teams. I just noticed there is already one postponed game. It's what makes baseball so much fun, right? March 29th openers? Ridiculous. We still have snow on the ground here.
