Since 1978, I've owned and driven everything from a moped to a 750cc Honda. I've even had a 500cc scooter that was unique as if it was raining or the roads were wet, the only part that would get wet were my top of my helmet and my hands/forearms. Probably my favorite ride was when I had a little 250cc Honda Rebel in San Antonio, Texas. Great mileage and super easy to maneuver in traffic. I only drove it for a few years before getting transferred to Alaska in the Air Force but it was my favorite bike. (And I wish I would've brought it up to Alaska as their summer weathers are great for riding a bike...it's only dark from like midnight to 2 am)
I don't ride anymore. I sold my old 750cc Honda a few years ago and doubt I'll have buy another bike. The main reason is because it's much more dangerous, these days, with drivers distracted by their phones that it's no longer safe, IMHO. (Especially in cities.)

Drivers have always been distracted - riding a motorcycle has never been safe. What I really don't understand are the riders who ride without helmets. Glad to see you were a responsible rider in that regard...

In Miami you have to be a NUT to ride a Hog....I have 3 friends in my circle and one more on the circle east from me that ride them, I will not do it. I do go to their Clubs Activities all the time and it's a great atmosphere.
The day I move to Arcadia, Fl or a similar country town I might get me one, but for now, safer inside a 4 wheels car.
