I came back to GasBuddy because I wanted to take advantage of the Pay With GasBuddy program. They claim you can get up to .25¢ back with the free membership and up to 40¢ with the premium. Everything I have seen has not been above 5¢ on the free membership, and the app told me I could save another 20¢ with premium. I am wondering if anyone else has seen anything more than 5¢ and 25¢ and how much people are actually saving with the premium membership.
If I spend the $9 for the premium membership, I want to make sure it is going to be worth it. I know premium does include road-side assistance. Also, I put about 64 gallons in my tank, each month, so that would total about $3.20/month, and with the premium it looks like it would be about $1 more (after taking off the $9), because they cut off the premium prices after 50 gallons. Not really worth it, even if I drove a lot more than I do.
I do like that the station I fill up at still offers their reward on top of Pay With GasBuddy.

First, Welcome here to the GBO Forums! I remember chatting with you a time or two on the old Des Moines threads.
I haven't taken up GB's offer to Pay With GasBuddy. I have been using my HyVee Rewards and linking that to Shell Fuel Rewards. No membership costs with either of these.

We don't have shell stations in Des Moines. I do use my Hy-Vee Fuel Saver card, though. I haven't had the chance to see if it will work with Pay With Gasbuddy, though. I don't generally have anything on my Hy-Vee card.

Thanks for the info, GasHole. Interetingly enough, my company uses WEX for its fleet needs. Its use by so many fleets is probably the secret to their success. I'd guess the fees and discounts are made up for in volume at the retail level.
For me personally, I live within a couple miles of both a Sam's and a Costco, so those meet the vast majority of my fueling needs. Also, I'd prefer to use credit rather than debit for my online transactions - and doing shopping that way appears to be the only way to use their GasBack program. Because of these factors, Pay With GasBuddy seems to me like extra rigmarole with limited return on effort. I imagine it would be fantastic for those in areas without wholesale clubs and who have no qualms about using a debit card online.

Nor do I suspect that the gas stations are selling tires for 2.089-2.149 - darn!

Has anyone noticed any nefarious actions with their Checking Account that they connected to the "Pay with GasBuddy" part of the app??
I'm starting to wonder...if some users are able to hack the app for extra points...might they be able to HACK "Pay with GasBuddy" and gain access to your bank routing and checking account number??
What about the other features in the app??

I don't think so because the "hacks" involved in gaming the point system are more on the level of "kitchen hacks," etc. and don't require the skills and harmful intent needed to actually breach secure account info.

Not worth it for me. I get 5% back on my Sam's credit card for all gas purchases and lately they have been doing one day a week at 10% rebate for fuel. Besides, why would I trust the IT people at GB with my account information?

I noticed that a couple months or so ago Pay with GasBuddy now has the capability of linking a credit card with its card, as well a as a credit card of its own. These are improvements that make me more inclined to try it.
