Good morning, all! Is anyone else sick of the way the GB page has deteriorated into an ad campaign. If you use the app, it is honestly difficult to post prices while stopped at a light because there is just so much clutter. I’m also really tired of the news article section. The current articles are all over 2 weeks old. It’s like they don’t want participation. I’m sure there is a handful of people making a ton of money on the commercialization of the page. It would really be nice if someone could create a page reminiscent of GB circa 2010. I’d love you click on the app, see prices in the area or report prices without having to search through clutter. Does anyone think they are in the process of dropping the articles altogether? Also, I miss my Buddies and want the whiteboard back. At least they haven’t deleted messages — yet.

Great comments, barbielove. Sorry I didn't spot this thread sooner and reply. This week's GB poll shows the impact GBs decisions have had on the website very well. Early in 2018, GB made a change to how it produces the weekly poll. Previously, for a number of years, a group of members worked somewhat collaboratively to prepare a weekly recommendation. The 4th poll in 2018 was the last "new" poll. Starting with the 5th poll of 2018 and each year since, the 2017 polls have repeated verbatim. The 12th poll in each of the annual sets is the one that's telling. It asks: How long have you been a GasBuddy? Here are the responses starting in 2017 through 2021: GB Age Ranges | 2017 Responses
| 2018 Responses
| 2019 Responses
| 2020 Responses
| 2021 Responses | Under 2 yrs | 5% | 3% | 3% | 3% | 3% | 2 to 5 yrs | 25% | 16% | 13% | 10% | 7% | 5 to 8 yrs | 25% | 26% | 23% | 19% | 15% | 8 to 11 yrs | 20% | 21% | 21% | 20% | 23% | 11 to 14 yrs | 17% | 23% | 22% | 21% | 19% | Over 14 yrs | 4% | 8% | 16% | 24% | 30% |
I can't explain why the under 2 year response has declined so little, but otherwise the aging of the active GB poll participants over the 5 polls confirms that little new traffic is finding it's way to the website. In 2017, 55% of responders had been GBs for 8 years or less. That figure is now just 25%.

SUVFan,
I might have a possible reason the #'s don't make a lot of sense...especially to long time GB's.
For the past 5 or more years, since the polls became useless, I just click wherever, get my points and move on.
I remember when there was actual discussions about a particular poll (among other topics discussed).
As Barbielove eluded to, GB investors only care about the Benjamin's!

I do the same as JL5: I click random answers, because they are irrelevant. A 2nd factor may be that fewer new members even know about the website or weekly poll. If they are "app-only" members, they may never consider that there is an old-fashioned website (with less to offer every day, it seems).

I think that especially explains the first answer not going down to close to zero as I'd expect due to all newbies being directed to the app and the difficulty GB has created for folks to find the "old" GasBuddy site. There are probably a decent number who simply go with the first answer in every poll -- Back when I first started participating in the topic in which the GB polls were produced, one member described it as the "get out of the poll free" option.

I just make up new GasBuddy accounts all day and then enter the contests for the $100 Gas Buddy gas card. I figured "Why Not"? - my chances of winning as a newbie GB are far greater and more $$ productive. I then resell the GB cards for 75% of their profit. Coupled with my welfare checks & social security checks, I do quite nicely! j/k BTW, I've seen your social media posts (where you post everything) - You're not exactly living in squalor. You live in one of the most expensive cites in the world, take warm vacations in the middle of winter and you don't drink cheap liquor! BTW, Happy 5th birthday to your German Shepard - that was awesome what you did for him today!
