Anyone here have a drone they use for photography? Post some photos anf discuss techniques for aerial photography. I was at someone's house right after Christmas time, and he had a cheap drone that got me looking at them since then.
(Edited by admin for this board.) See the Aviation Board for a drone equipment and operation topic by the same author. Two posts on that subject were moved there.)

For a quick and dirty video using a cheap drone, why couldn't you take an older (read as not a disaster if it crashes) small camera, start the video recording, attach it to the drone and take off? You might have to make a few test flights to learn how to frame a scene properly.
You could even take stills if you set the shutter delay timer and you have enough time to fly to the scene. You could use a stop watch or count the seconds to know when it goes off and it is time to return.

Unfortunately cheap drones don't have - much excess lift to carry additional weight - much energy storage to power the additional camera (whether to keep aloft or power the camera)

A go-pro on a kite is a cheap alternative and a fun time.
