Rams have just signed Ndamukong Suh for one year. They've already signed Talib and they're interested in trading for Odell Beckham Jr.
They seem to want to corner the market in getting players who commit stupid penalties. What could possibly go wrong?

The addition of Suh prompts an interesting new poll:
Who do you believe is more honest, sincere, and trustworthy? Rams owner Stan Kroenke or Ndamukong Suh.
I cast my vote for Suh.

As noted in BPs poll about who you want to win the game, I'm in the Rams' camp even though I don't think they belong in the game. Not because I want the Rams to win -- I just want the Pats to lose.
To my knowledge it's not the Rams fault an official didn't understand what pass interference is and his no call led to the Rams' win. (I'm being generous here -- I don't see how any ref could blow that call without being paid to do so.) With the Rams down to a single time out, with a first down inside the 10 with about a buck forty seven to go, the Saints could have ran the clock down to nothing by going into victory formation for several plays, centering the ball in front of the goal posts inside the 10, kicking the game winner as the clock expired.
But as undeserving a Super Bowl contestant the Rams are, the gutless commish refused to do the right thing and order a replay the game from the point of the horrendous call.
So with a choice between the Patriots and any other team, I choose any other team. I have despised the Pats' coach since he was one upped by Browns' QB Bernie Kosar when Bill sent in a play that Kosar recognized as being stupid. Instead of running that play, Kosar drew one up in the baseball infield of old Cleveland Municipal Stadium and threw a TD pass on his play. Someone in the huddle told the media and Bill was furious. He benched Kosar -- maybe the smartest guy to play QB -- in favor of Vinne Testaverde -- quite possibly the dumbest. Bill said Bernie had diminishing skills. Dallas immediately picked Bernie up on waivers and Bernie ended up using his diminishing skills by helping Dallas make the playoffs when their storied QB Troy Aikman suffered an injury. Bernie had chosen the Browns long before Bill was their coach at a time when no one wanted to play in Cleveland. He took the team to the AFC title game twice, losing both times to John Elway in games that Cleveland fans will always believe their team should have won. Kosar had done all he could. The first loss to Denver saw Elway get the ball back with very little time but march Denver down the field to score the game winner. That one is called, "The Drive". On the other one, Cleveland was on the verge of scoring a TD when the venerable Earnest Byner fumbled just before he appeared to be carrying the ball into the end zone to cap a game winning drive for the Browns. That one is called, "The Fumble."
Kosar took the Browns closer to reaching the Super Bowl than anyone before or after him, and deserved better treatment. The sun was setting on his QB career, but he still had game. I'll always believe that despite his huge ego (even then), Bill learned a lesson that has benefitted him throughout his remarkable tenure with New England: Kosar taught him that he shouldn't call plays. A defensive guy, Bill probably thought the best play to call was something the defense would never expect to be called. The problem with that mentality is there's a reason the defense has it's expectations: The plays they'd never expect are dumb plays for the situation. Especially in the NFL, you're going to be more successful by executing a reasonable play for the situation that doesn't depend on defensive inattention to have a chance at success. Anyway, I've hated Bill ever since. It hasn't helped as he's been exceptionally successful, quite likely the best ever. And while I respect that, I still despise the him.
My other rooting interest is against the Pat's QB. Again, I respect that he's likely the best to ever play the game despite, like his head coach, being a known cheater. That he hails from the school up north means that I'll root against him.
Why teams don't just come with an all out blitz on the first couple of obvious passing plays and hit him as hard as possible no matter how late the hit may be, I'll never understand. After several slobberknockers, I think he'd be affected for the rest of the game. So what if you get a couple of 15 yard penalties on the first possession. Just knock the hell out of the guy so he hears footsteps the rest of the game and hurries his throws, assuming he doesn't bail. After that, just have someone rush like crazy but not hit him after he throws it away. At this point in his career, hard hits are going to rattle his bones. Literally. I don't understand why he hasn't retired. He's got more money than he can ever spend and a great wife. Why risk not being able to walk normally again due to even a legal blind side hit?
So I'm rooting for the Pats to lose tomorrow, recognizing that means an undeserving team wins. Sadly, it's likely not going to happen, I know. I've endured past Pats wins and can handle it easily if they win again. And I can be happy for the former Buckeyes that will end up with rings.
