Tom Telesco did a pretty good job this off season...
1. Cut Brandon Mebane and Thomas Davis, both past their prime and making good money. 2. Traded Russell Okung for Trai Turner - Okung was unreliable, getting hurt all the time. Turner is a nasty and strong RG. 3. Release Philip Rivers - Time to move onto a more mobile QB 4. Re-signed Austin Ekler - undrafted RB who is super strong, can catch/run and versatile 5. Franchised tag Hunter Henry - TE coming into his own 6. Signed Bryan Bulaga - LT who is a major upgrade 7. Signed Chris Harris - CB who completes the defensive backfield as an elite group 8. Signed Linval Joseph - major upgrade over Mebane
Telesco still has around $10M in cap space and that's after allocating $ for rookie draft picks
Next up is the draft and hope to see them get either one of the 3:
1. Tua Tagovailoa QB Alabama 2. Isaiah Simmons LB/S Clemson 3. Mekhi Bechton LT Louisville
This team is doing a good job getting ready to move into the new $5B SoFi stadium with the Rams
Hopefully there will be a 2020 season

Justin Herbert looked like a very special QB playing in his first game vs. the KC Chiefs. He was calm, make some really accurate throws and ran with speed and power. He collided with a KC linebacker who took the brunt of the collision. I like this guy and think that he can be very good. The Chargers drafted their future QB here.

Well the Chargers have now been a year+ in Los Angeles. They are fighting for brand recognition and support in LA and OC, but traction is slow. Lots of upset faithful fans in San Diego who are still upset with Spano ownership. I am one who doesn't like the Spanos family. They were never transparent in what they wanted out of the city of San Diego. However, the politics in San Diego is also bad! At the end of the day, the fans get screwed. This is BIG business and the owners care about their own pockets. I still follow the Chargers and even went to a training camp last summer. I still like the players, but have lost so much respect for professional sports. I follow college sports much more, but will still watch the pro games. I'm a sucker... BTW, great to see so many GB's make the switch to this website!

Now that the Chargers have one of the better young QBs and a bad ass LT, the offense looks like they will be one of the better ones for years to come. Big game on MNF vs the Raiders. This will be a big test for them as the Raiders have won 3 straight and their offense looks pretty dynamic too.

What a wild game last night. Herbie was the best player on the field. Big defensive stand at the end of the game with back-to-back sacks. Next up is divisional rival Broncos.

Lets see if the Bolts can show more consistency. They should beat the Giants this weekend which would set-up a show down game with the Chiefs the following Thursday night. Herbert will need to be on point, so that the defense is not gassed. Chargers always play the Chiefs close.

While I'm watching the playoffs this weekend, I'm reminded that having an elite QB is critical. I'm rooting for either the Rams (local team) or the Packers. I would like to see Rogers retire on top. Selfishly, I don't want Rogers coming to an AFC West team. If Rogers leaves, there could be an opportunity for the Chargers to get Devante. It would be awesome to see Herbert throwing to Devante...

If Khalil Mack can stay healthy this season, the Charger's pass rush could be very formidable with Bosa and Mack on the edge. A nightmare for all the QBs out there.

This time of the year, most teams look good on paper (except the Packers). A very good season also requires good luck in injuries.

Great draft by the Chargers. With some luck, they could make a big run in the playoffs. They have every position covered with depth at many positions. Health is the biggest factor at this time.

Well here we are with the 2022 season about to begin this Thursday with the Rams as defending SB champs taking on the AFC favorite, the Bills.
The Chargers are loaded this season across the board. Their defense was weak against the run last season. This season they added Khalil Mack, JC Sebastien Joseph-Day, Austin Johnson, JC Jackson, Kyle Van Noy, Bryce Callahan and Gerald Everett and Sony Michel to the roster. This team is stacked and they also drafted another stud Left Guard in Zion Johnson. If there are no major injuries this season, the Chargers should make it into the playoffs where they have as good as a chance to win it all. Never have they had so many ballers and an elite QB who is just showing all of his skills to carry a team. Wow! Can't wait to see them start against the Raiders the following Sunday. The AFC West is the most competitive division in football where each team has an unbelievable QB and edge rushers. Each team can either win it all or finish last in the division. It is that close.
Lets get this season rolling!!!

Nice win yesterday over the Raiders. 6 sacks and 3 picks on Carr. Herbert throws 3 TDs.

Need Herbert to heal. I might sit him against the Jaguars this weekend.
