Until a couple of years ago, I had to replace parts on my Briggs & Stratton-powered lawn mower almost every mowing season because the ethanol in E-10 gasoline was destroying the rubber parts. I switched to an ethanol-free "engineered fuel" and have had almost no trouble since.
I would never go back to gasoline for my outdoor equipment--how about you?

We don't have a lawn mower(living in Arizona we don't need one) . But we do have generators, electric here can go out for hours,day/days at a time. I have always used gasoline and when the need for the generator has passed I take the carburetor apart clean and blow everything out including the gas tanks. who knows the next time i need them might be two or even three years from now, so no matter what is used for fuel i am sure it does not stay fresh for 1-2-or even 3 years . so gasoline taken from our cars and trucks at the time of need is our choice.

None of the blended stuff for me! It's strictly plain gasoline in my small engines! E10 messed up the car my wife used to drive, too!

Ethanol-free premium for my equipment. Also add isopropyl alcohol and Sta-Bil. No gum-ups or freeze-ups.

I've got a couple of basic lawn mowers. I use 87 octane, same as in the car. I don't drain the gas at the end of the season, I just leave it in the tank all winter. They both start right up even after sitting idle all winter. Both my mowers were given to me because they were dead and their owners were throwing them out. Both are basic HomeDepot mowers. A little tinkering and I got both going.

I just use E-10 from the local gas station, but I do add fuel stabilizer. Newer mowers are made to run on E-10 so I don't have any problems with it. Nor the chain saw (which gets a 40:1 mix of oil and gas being a 2 cycle engine). The fuel stabilizer is what does the trick.

I do very little mowing and I have a great electric mower for that chore. I hate to keep Gas anywhere in my home.
