Why is it that members of the LDS believe that non-members cannot go to heaven? A family member who "converted" from The RCC to LDS keeps telling us that and that we have to change soon. She also says they have baptised us in their church already. How can this be if we never have been to their church. We could not even attend their daughter's wedding there.

Asked the question in July and still no response. By the way, they no longer want to be called Mormons. Even changed the name of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir!

Still waiting for an answer! Why are members of the LDS afraid to discuss this topic? Or is this one of their secrets like the temple?

soutxed , it appears that, not only did no Mormons from That Other Place come over to GBO. neither did any other quasi-Christian group. Nor, for that matter did any of the atheists that I used to debate in what is now the "Inter-Religious dialogue" forum.
So I doubt if you will ever get an answer here.

I do think they are here with new names, GTH... Some are not. I do miss some of them as they are friends.

She also says they have baptised us in their church already. How can this be if we never have been to their church. We could not even attend their daughter's wedding there. In the LDS doctrinal system, there are multiple destinations to which a soul can go. The highest one, you are given your own planet and you are God of that planet. That's what they consider "heaven" to be. The lower levels are less than Heaven but are not Hell either. And your wife spends eternity spiritually pregnant and gives birth to pre-existing souls. The LDS practice proxy baptism, that's how you got baptized.
Mormon President and Prophet Lorenzo Snow said, "As man is now, God once was; as God is now man may become."
There are a number of books that describe LDS teaching in detail from those who want to refute it.
