I just bought the high-end HFT equivalent of the Sawzall using a 25% off coupon, so it was more than the low-end version you can get on sale for $20. I already had a discarded DeWalt carrying case designed for their version. By cutting some of the molded plastic webs out, I was able to modify it to fit the HFT version. I was careful to do it slowly and carefully to avoid that "gnawed on by a pack of hungry wolves" look I have seen by others who have tried the same kind of modification. (If you have a flame available, you can heat up a paring knife with the blade tip bent into an L shape to get right down to the base of the webs; it's easier and neater to melt them than to cut them.) Now I have to find a similar kind of case from which to cannibalize some matching black plastic pieces to glue or bolt inside to form the compartments for blade storage and a hex-key holder. Or maybe if I can find the right sizes, bolt in tin boxes having snap-closed lids to corral these parts instead of trying to make plastic webs fit together close enough to prevent leakage.
The HFT manual has an clearly-drawn and numbered exploded parts drawing, but get this: THERE ARE NO PART NUMBERS GIVEN! Also the quantity column for every part listed is 1, even if the tool has obviously more than one of the part, such as motor brushes, case screws and the like. I hope that doesn't mean that they won't sell any spare parts for this tool.

I think they give the exploded diagram just so that people have some hope of repair, alas...
it appears that the FRU is the same as the item number.

Horrible fright does not sell any parts for any tools not even a big ticket tool like air compressors.
I have seen up close a HF sawzall gear case explode when cutting in a wall ac unit. after that i would never own any of there hand power tools again.
I still like HF and buy a lot of stuff there, but not the hand held power stuff.
