Texas Roadhouse -- Newark, OH -- yesterday
It's not a top of the line steakhouse but it doesn't pretend to be one, either. The steaks are well prepared and decent sized.
The restaurant was busy but respecting protocols. All employees had facecoverings. They provide one plastic menu for the table but there's a scannable card at each table that you can use to pop up a menu on your phone. The bill says you can pay using their app but I don't have it yet.
They've added plexiglass separators at the top of the seats and side walls of their booths that blend in nicely to the decor, such as it is. They took the two person booths out of service, placing thank you medical worker displays on them. The buckets of peanuts are also gone.
I walked in a little after 4 pm and was seated immediately but, when I walked out just before 5, they have moved the hostess stand outside and customers were waiting outside on benches and standing around, socially distanced. Their old inside waiting area just off the front door has been closed off. The parking spaces all had numbers, I presume so they can bring carryout orders to you in your car.

Lunch today at Pastimes, a Westerville zip code but close to New Albany.
It's 59¢ wing day! So I had 10 traditional wings with blue cheese dressing, washed down with a Mich Ultra.
The food was great! Not a fan of the low carb beer, generally, but it's ok with food, especially wings. By itself, I can't take the aftertaste but that's not an issue with buffalo wings!

McDonalds. The sausage patties were hot, the cheese melted, the coffee was (of course) hot. They served them side by side on a platter with a plastic cover that kept them hot.
The only problem were people walking in without face gear.

Lunch today at Buffalo Wild Wings, more details here. The wings were excellent, hot, crisp and saucy. The beer was cold. Even the celery looked nice, which is often not the case at a lot of Bdubs I visit. Plus, my server made sure the blue cheese dressing containers were filled to the rim, not the partially filled way that their corporate stores were required to serve them pre pandemic anyway. This store is a bit of a hike for me, but it's worth it.

I guess in the COVID-19 era I'll count the Costco rotisserie chicken I had for lunch as coming from an eatery. Carryout of course, as their dining area is shut down. Their chickens are excellent.

I went back to Ghostwriters in Johnstown last week. I ordered their Fish & Chips. The sandwich was outstanding and the fries, thought not the kind that I think of as "chips" were excellent.
I also tried their cheese curd appetizer, which was also excellent.

On the way back from early in person voting yesterday, I stopped at Bob Evans for Country Fried Steak & eggs. That my first trip there since the spring shutdown. It was delicious! They changed their home fries -- the cubes are a lot larger and way tastier!

I had breakfast at McDonalds this morning -- they have a 2 for $2 deal on Sausage McMuffins with cheese. I ordered them with the muffin on the side, took them home and stuck them in the freezer. Plus a small coffee.

I picked up Buffalo Wings as an appetizer from the Red Oak Pub in Newark on my way back from walking (see that topic) yesterday: They were delish!

I carried out Arbys (no dine in option anyway) last night.
They offer a catering menu so I just brought home 2 lbs of their roast beef.

I had lunch at Penn Lake Roast Beef in Bloomington, MN today. They are only doing takeout at the moment due to a restaurant closure that is in effect until December 19th so I ate it in my car.

Last week I had delivery from Noodles & Company. I had a $5 gift certificate and they had free delivery in December which had a minimum order, so I got two meals and saved one for the next day. One was shrimp scampi with a side Caesar salad and the other was a main dish chicken Caesar salad with a side mac & cheese.
Most of it was good, but they didn't follow my special instructions to omit the croutons in the side salad and substitute a gluten "friendly" noodle in the mac and cheese. The mac & cheese seemed to only have cheese on top and more of a cream sauce throughout. But the main dishes were good. I'd get them again.
