I am reading Genesis 3 right now and it is a treasure to me. I would like all of us to discuss it, and write down your thoughts, or lessons from Genesis 3. When we have exhausted Genesis 3, then someone else name a chapter in the Bible you want to talk about. Please all join in.

Genesis 3:1-5...1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Satan always questions the authority of God. Leads me to know that when I question God that I am being driven by the devil. Men question the authority of God often, sometimes they do that when they question the people of God.
Satan started out trying out trying to influence man and he has never stopped. Where does doubt and unbelief come from ....it is the lie of satan.

Failure to separate the will of man from the will of God often causes confusion in a religion that is more earth oriented than being of it's counter-part, the Kingdom.
People often say the opposite but perhaps it might be better to ask 'what would the Adversary do?' Would it allow a religion to dwell on the Kingdom of God or instead subvert even the religion to draw attention away from God's Kingdom (authority) and back to the world of man without, as in the case with Eve, needing to outright lie. If there is not clear separation between world of man and Kingdom then is there not confusion? As the religion rejoined the world of man, then what would it teach it's people? Would it teach the words of Jesus that condemns such an action or redefine and go in another direction in order to self-justify itself?
We did come to know good and evil and have used it to redefine each to suit our wills, and defend the world over the Kingdom ever since. The misdirection of the Garden continues today, even in the religion meant to show the clear division between the will of man and the will of God. Instead it tries to justify having it both ways and the people lap it up as it better suits their rebellious nature.

3:16.... Have in them all the elements basic to any temptation which is likely to confront you or me. .Doubting God ...raising questions about what God said...pitting your own will against his....thinking you are way smarter than God... God has warned all of us the consequences of disobeying Him. The consequencing of disobeying God's words is spiritual death (separated from God when we disobey Go that and physical death. Prior to our questioning God, we were perfect, live forever, wore no clothes, had great provision provided for us. They were living in a terrarian like environment, perfect environment, no weather/no clothes. God created man in his image...how beautiful is that? God doesn't need a building or clothes...and we were created like him...and we stepped on that. Just so easy for satan to turn our heads. Just so easy for us to turn our head. That disobedience was passed on to all men because the parents of all, disobeyed and disregarded God. Romans 5:12-14 English Standard Version (ESV) Death in Adam, Life in Christ 12 Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— 13 for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. 14 Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.

Interesting to me the two "D" words in vs6 delight and desire; lead to disobedience. Satan incited Adam (man) but he fell by his own free will.
