Today I've been shown this.
1 Peter 3:16
Having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

Luke 16: 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. 16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
"Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven"
The governance of self serving man will be trashed in favour of the Kingdom/governance of God

“If you have raced with men on foot, and they have wearied you, how will you compete with horses? And if in a safe land you are so trusting, what will you do in the thicket of the Jordan? Jeremiah 12:5
Buck up soldiers of the Lord, we are in training for worse times.

Deuteronomy 4:35-36 English Standard Version 35 To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord is God; there is no other besides him. 36 Out of heaven he let you hear his voice, that he might discipline you. And on earth he let you see his great fire, and you heard his words out of the midst of the fire.
This was my new birth.

Philippians 3:13-14 English Standard Version 13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
"Press On" are two of my most favorite words. When folks use to ask me, at work, what are you doin'? I would just say "pressin' on".. One lady gave me a little statue by Jonathan and David for Prescious Moments, when I left that job.

Do you collect Precious Moments, mexicomaria?
Is your gift of Precious Moments, cooking or reading?

I like "pressing on!" What a great reminder to press on, no matter what.
My father use to say, when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
Come to think of it, it looks like your Precious Moments is ironing. Do I have it right now?

yes.... The lady who gave it to me, taught herself to play guitar, she would tell you that she was a novice, not good, but when she played her music it changed lives. She played at a women's retreat and David and Jonathon were there as speakers and they gave her a gift of several Precious Moments. I think later they sold their company to Enesco. Anyway, when she heard me saying that, "Pressin On" she gave me the statue. Yes, it is ironing. I am not usually a collector..
My verse today is Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Many times strange things have happened to me that have to do with an Eagle..almost like getting me to stop, take note.. I have loved that verse ever since. It is like God uses the Eagle to get my attention.

On eagles wings is one of my favorite songs, that I would sing in church. It was one of my 3 French buddies, Jackie's favorite song also. We would always be singing it loud and proud together. She asked me, to make sure they played it for her when she passed on. Because of Covid and the new rules as to how many could attend a funeral, I had to wait on the side lines, even though we were the very best of friends and all 3 of us went out to eat after church services every Sunday for years. I did make sure her favorite song was played, and her favorite priest did the sermon. Because I couldn't attend the services, but yet unknown to everyone, I did... her husband and son made sure I got to ride in the limo with them to where she would be buried. It was a long distance away. I'm glad I got to go with them. So strange that standing over her open grave a butterfly emerged.

I saw an eagle the other day near my bank! It was very odd, since eagles aren't normally in the area that I was at.

Exodus 19:4 You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to Myself. (God speaking)
This verse I mentioned before... Philippians 3:13-14
English Standard Version
13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
I also like the reference of "straining" forward. My neighbor, who had work horses, would use them to remove bigs rocks from his field. He would wistle and that work horse pair would leap forward and strain against their tackle and jump to get a start. That is what I think straining means ...when God calls we strain to do his work. We forget our limitations, all our excuses and jump and strain to move forward, to God's work. Our prize is God, Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit. We get to go upward.

Please continue to pray for my daughter...she works full time as a speech therapist in schools, and is now having to take care of her mother in law who has cancer return and has a huge bed sore, and was really bad until they came to live with my daughter. My daughter had her own knee surgery and now has a spur on her achilles. She needs prayers as there seems to be no end. She cooks and does all house work and laundry. I am just afraid it is too late to ever say no.
How is Margot?

John 13:34, ESV: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
Ok, kids, here are some questions I would like to ask you about this verse. Why did Jesus say, "a new commandment" I give you, when the Ten Commandments mention love?
Who is he talking to? Who is "one another" in this verse. Where is this said, and why did he say it? (context).. How do we know Jesus definition of love?

In talking to the Apostles and disciples in the Olive Garden (the mount, not the restaurant) Jesus spoke of caring for each other including our enemies, just as He cared for us and as we would hope others would care for us. A final of two previous commandments which basically said, put the will of God before the will of man thus loving all as self. His gospel was the Gospel of the Kingdom, which showed the ways of God are not the self serving ways of man but are of servitude in caring for each other, rather than personal gain at others expense. That is what separates those of the Kingdom from those still of the world which man has made in our own image of self interest. We know this definition from four scriptures based on the separation between the world and the Kingdom.
Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
