Hi, All- Doing good here. We finally got some rain after a long drought in the mid-Atlantic. 'Debby' came up the east coast. Keeping busy with my radio projects and doing some gardening out on our large deck. This year I put in 6 tomato plants, all of them are the smaller ones like grape tomatoes. They do OK considering how shady my yard is in summer.
Do keep in touch, guys. Now that Gas Buddy forums are long gone, this is the only place where we can find each other. Even if the posts are not frequent, I do like to read them and catch up. I have a tab I can click on. This helps me since I don't have to remember all the details of how to find this thread on GBO.
Interesting times we are all living through. I think I'm doing well in seeing the good side of things- and yes, there is always a 'silver lining'. This is actually quite an interesting era. Change is hard but good can come out of it. I do think people are waking up. Yay!

Just wanted to say hello to everybody and let you know, yes, I am still alive just had a lot going on. I am currently recovering from TKR. Things are supposed to get much better at 3 months, 6 months and then a year. Seems like a lifetime away..... We are currently in a drought driest August and September on record. Whole Wabash valley is under a burn ban.

Right now, 9/25/2024, I'm keeping watch on Hurricane Helene off the coast of west Florida. While it is not supposed to make a direct hit in my area there will be high winds. But the main issue around here is the storm surge of water. The ground is already saturated, so this additional water will create flooding. Sections of my development flood including the main road into/out of the development. The country does place pumps to remove the water in some areas, but I have never seen a pump on the main road. I just hope I don't lose power like I have twice this year for around 9-hours both times. 9-hours and the food in the refrigerator is on the borderline of having to be dumped. Freezer is OK for around 48 hours if fully packed, which it is as I packed ice cubes into freezer bags to fill any gaps.

I'm OK in my area of Florida after the passing of Hurricane Helene. Others not so lucky and my heart goes out to them.

Those poor folks in the southern Appalachians got beat up in the extreme. Historic flooding. It's going to take a long time to rebuild that area. Not only am feeling shock and sadness over that, but also I lost my old cat Mariah Monday the 30th. She was 20 years old. A wonderful companion all these years. She will be sorely missed. Photo of young Mariah...

Sorry to read about your loss. I know how you feel because when I lost Murphy after 14 years -- well I still miss him. Made it through 2 hurricanes so far this year. No issues, but not every one was so lucky. Nices to hear from both of you.
