This evening, my housemate AJ was playing with our dog Ritalin (purebred German Shepherd female) and my cat Tiger got involved. The only reason there are cats in the house is the other humans want there to be cats in the house; AJ doesn't like them very much. Ritalin's his pet.
Ritalin loves chasing tennis balls and AJ was playing catch with her. Tiger was snoozing on the couch and the ball landed between his front legs and his back legs.
Everytime Ritalin got close to the ball, Tiger would lay back his ears and hiss loudly. Ritalin didn't know what to do then, she started barking (which probably didn't help Tiger's disposition). But Ritalin knew not to get too close to those cat claws.
AJ eventually picked up the ball and threw it to Ritalin. And poor Tiger was only then able to go back to snoozing.
