LOL, now I know I’m not the only Home Theater fan out there! It took me a few years, but this is what I’m now rocking movies with:
Receiver: | Pioneer VSX-1131 7.2-Channel AV Receiver | Front: | Polk Audio T15 Bookshelf Speakers | Atmos: | Pioneer SP-T22A-LR Add-on Speakers
| Center: | Polk Audio AM3365-A TL3 Center Channel Speaker | Surround: | Fluance AVBP2 Home Theater Bipolar Surround Sound Satellite Speakers
| Surround Back: | Fluance AVBP2 Home Theater Bipolar Surround Sound Satellite Speakers | Subwoofer: | Polk Audio PSW125 12-Inch Powered
|
I like the Fluance speakers because, being bipolar, they really move the sound around! And the Pioneer Atmos Add-ons really do make a difference; especially when planes are flying overhead! What about the rest of the Home Theater fans out there?

What's bipolar mean? I've been in electronics since the '60s and never heard the term.
Speaking of Polk, I saw a couple of rain-soaked totes full of clothes, etc. dumped along the road. In it, just above the water line was a Polk Audio two-squawker + tweeter center channel speaker, with the former angled outward. It was damp, but the cones looked ok, and I could detect no voice coil rubbing. The enclosure felt like it was made from some kind of artificial stone material about 1/4" thick, so at least that part of it was waterproof. I'm letting it dry out before testing. Peeking through the reflex port, I could see that the wiring inside was done using a PCB with really wide traces. I hope that translates to mucho wattage.

Bipole surround speakers have two or more speakers that output sound from both sides of the cabinet. If used as side surround speakers, the sound is output both towards the front and rear of the room. If used as rear surround speakers, they output sound in both directions along the rear wall. They look like this: Attachment Deleted

That's a pretty highfalutin name for "bi-directional." The only poles on a speaker that I know of are those of the field magnet. The model is RMCC. It's funny that on EBay for about $40, you can get either this speaker or this speaker plus two satellites.

LOL, but they DO make for great sound immersion and regardless of where one is sitting in the room, you get the full sound effect all around you.
