Around here, it's rare to see a pair of Promodel hightops in any color. The low-top equivalent, on the other hand, is much more widely seen, but usually in white or black. Of course, I had to get a pair of red ones and blue ones to be other than the usual. Chucks are seen frequently on the street here, but there's about half hightops and half lowtops unless you're in my bedroom. As far as I'm concerned, the lowtop version is only a Chuckoid!
Today, I wore another of the 21 pairs of sneakers that were above Hurricane Harvey's flood waters. Red leather, but they are Chucks. One of those 21 pairs was a pair of black leather Chucks made in the USA. Which means they're older than April 2001. I also have a pair of black leather Chucks that were made in the Far East, but one of them has a flat ankle patch and the other has an embroidered ankle patch (don't know which is which off of the top of my head).
