April 7, 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower held a news conference in which he spoke of the importance of containing the spread of communism in Indochina, saying, “You have a row of dominoes set up, you knock over the first one, and what will happen to the last one is the certainty that it will go over very quickly.” (This became known as the “domino theory,” although Eisenhower did not use that term.)

A reservoir in space holds 140 trillion times the amount of water in Earth’s oceans. NASA found a floating reservoir of water that holds the equivalent of 140 trillion times all the water that’s in Earth's oceans. What makes it even more amazing is the fact that the reservoir surrounds a giant black hole. More than 12 billion light-years away from Earth, the reservoir is more proof “that water is pervasive throughout the universe,” says Matt Bradford, a scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. Each year on April 8th, National Empanada Day recognizes a delicious pastry that comes in several different forms. The name empanada comes from the Galician, Portuguese and Spanish verb em pandar, meaning to wrap or coat in bread.
Empanadas are made by folding the dough or bread around a seasoned stuffing. The stuffed dough is then baked or fried. Very much like hand pies, these delicious pastries offer a variety of choices. You can make your empanadas with meat, cheese, vegetables or fruit fillings. However, they may be made with other ingredients, too.

The word "muscle" comes from a Latin term meaning "little mouse." Bend your arm at the elbow and flex. What do you see when you look at your bicep? The ancient Romans apparently saw the resemblance of a tiny rodent, which is why it's called a “muscle,” a word derived from the Latin term musculus—meaning “little mouse,” according to Merriam-Webster. It’s time to fill the home with warmth on National Cinnamon Crescent Day! Each year, this pastry holiday causes mouth-watering excitement on April 10th. The crescent-shaped dough is filled with sugar, cinnamon, and butter then rolled, shaped, and baked to a golden brown deliciousness. You can add icing for an extra sweet touch. While amazing served piping hot from the oven, these rolls also taste delicious once they’ve cooled down. Don’t hesitate to make extra, because they will not last long.
A crescent roll is similar to a croissant. The outside features a light flaky crust that reveals a warm, buttery inside. The key to a perfect croissant is laminating the dough. Laminating the dough is a process by which butter is folded into the mixture creating multiple thin layers of butter and dough.
