Who Knew??? Note from sandipaws: I make Cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving dinner. The recipe is simple, quick & easy to make: fresh cranberries, sugar & orange juice. www.allrecipes.com/recipe/9111/cranberry-sauce/ There are other recipes that have more ingredients, but I haven't tried any of them yet. Homemade sauce is a little different from the canned cranberry sauce, but I still enjoy both.

Who Knew???The name jukebox is thought to originate from places called ‘juke houses’ or ‘jook joints.’ In the early 1900s, people congregated in these establishments to drink and listen to music. In 1889, Louis Glass and his partner William S. Arnold invented the first coin-operated player in San Francisco. They were both managers of the Pacific Phonograph Co. Formally known as the nickel-in-the-slot machine, the player included a coin operation feature on an Edison phonograph. However, it played a limited selection of songs without any amplification.

There is a Hot Pink Lake in Australia. Western Australia's Lake Hillier has a naturally-occurring pink hue. While scientists aren't entirely sure why this is, it likely has to do with the carotenoid pigments produced by microalgae in the water. Who knew?
