Where did you last go grocery shopping? And, if you're inclined to verbosity, what did you buy?

Hardly qualifies as a "grocery store haul" but I bought an eight-ounce bottle of blackberry extract on amazon.com yesterday. Plan to use it to make blackberry flavored CSD's in the Sodastream.

I went to HEB Clear Lake Market #2 on a picture-perfect Sunday afternoon, great for getting gas prices, having lunch (beef fajitas at a Mexican restaurant), getting groceries, and filling up the Escape. Spent $44.74 on 23 items, including a nine-roll pack of HEB Our Finest Ultra Strong bath tissue, ten pint bottles of HEB lowfat chocolate milk, a two-pepper Stouffer's Stuffed Peppers frozen entrée, five Stouffer's Meat Lovers' Lasagna frozen entrée in the Satisfying Servings size, four pint bottles of HEB OJ, a six-bun bag of Pepperidge Farm stone ground whole wheat buns, and a set of measuring spoons. Other than the chocolate milk, everything was stuff we didn't buy last Wednesday. Nearly all the chocolate milk gets vaporized by the kid (13-year-old son of my house caretaker).

Went to Kroger. Didn't find what I was looking for, so I tried Walmart. (My usual shopping place, HEB, didn't have what I wanted.) Bought four bottles of Sodastream Diet Dr Pete (their version of a "pepper" flavor, more of a brown spice note than Dr Pepper) flavoring syrup. I'd gone through four of them in around a month.

Nothing really exciting! One bottle of "all" free clear fabric softener, a jar of Ragu Thick and Hearty spaghetti sauce, a jar of Del Monte Sunfresh No Sugar Added grapefruit sections, and two bananas (the bananas were on rollback at my local Walmart for 15 cents a pound_, and the total cost of said bananas was...wait for it...15 cents. They totaled 0.98 pounds. At my age you only buy one or two bananas at a time. Not for the obvious jokey reason, but rather if you don't use them up within a day or two, they get overripe really fast! Had that happen last week and I had to whip up little loaves of homemade banana bread to use the bunch I had purchased previously!
