Went grocery shopping in the one o'clock hour Sunday with my housemate. He went to his preference in grocery stores. He comments that HEB, which is my preference, is too crowded. I comment that Food Town, his preference in grocery stores, is too expensive. I spent $68.10 at Food Town and got: Four Red Baron Classic Crust four-meat frozen pizzas Two six-bagel bags of Thomas Plain Bagels (they were out of "everything" bagels) A package of Kraft Expertly Sliced Double Cheddar cheese A package of Borden sliced Colby Jack cheese A package of Kraft Expertly Sliced Mozzarella/Cheddar cheese A package of Bar-S Cotto Salami A package of Bar-S bologna A nine-ounce package of Buddig sliced Honey Ham lunchmeat A nine-ounce package of Buddig sliced Chicken lunchmeat A jar of store-brand crunchy peanut butter (much better than the creamy my housemate's youngest son eats) Two one-gallon jugs of Red Diamond sugar-free tea (sweetened with Splenda)
HEB wasn't totally left out: I used their VISA card to pay for the food.

Went grocery shopping at HEB after my podiatrist appointment. My housemate got halfway close to the front door and asked me if I was going to get out. Usually don't go in the side of the store with the produce department. I got on a scooter and set about the store shopping. My housemate walked around the store until he saw me, then he reminded me of some things to get. He left me shopping and went out to the Escape to smoke. I went through the checkstand (the cashier unloaded the basket for me) and then I headed out the door to the Escape. I spent $110 for 34 items, namely: Two fridge packs of Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Cherry Two one-gallon jugs of Red Diamond Sugar-Free Tea (sweetened with Splenda) Two one-gallon jugs of HEB 2% milk Two Red Baron Classic Crust four-meat frozen pizzas Two fridge packs of Diet Dr Pepper original flavor Two loaves of HEB Super Duper Butter Bread One six-bagel bag of Aunt Millie's "Everything" bagels A 20-ounce bottle of HEB Diet Dr B (consumed while shopping) A ten-slice package of HEB Colby Jack cheese A 3# chub of ground chuck A ten-slice package of HEB Monterey Jack cheese A ten-slice package of HEB Provolone cheese Two seven-ounce tubs of HEB beef pastrami A ten-slice package of HEB Cheddar cheese A ten-slice package of HEB sliced Swiss cheese Two four-cup packages of HEB diced peaches Two packages of Lipton beefy onion dry soup mix Two four-cup packages of HEB mixed fruit cups A 23-ounce box of Kellogg's Froot Loops Two four-cup packages of HEB tropical fruit cups Two four-cup packages of HEB diced pears
Unfortunately, the cashier chose to add a "Change for Charity" donation to my order without my knowledge or permission. I only found out about it after I got home. I contacted HEB and gave them an earful about it. I contribute to the charities that I want to, not the ones that HEB picked out.

We've had a couple of grocery orders so far in April but I've been too busy to comment to now. Had an appointment with my podiatrist this afternoon and we decided to go grocery shopping afterwards. My housemate picked me up in the Escape and I commented I was dry as a bone. That resulted in a trip to HEB to get stuff to drink, supper, and other things to as I could think of what we needed off the top of my head. Had several people offer to grab stuff for me on the scooter, almost always as I said "Just got it!" Got the following: Two one-gallon jugs of Red Diamond Sugar-Free Tea One one-gallon jug of HEB 2% Milk A 20-ounce bottle of HEB Diet Dr B (store brand Dr Pepper clone, drank it while shopping because I was so dry) A party-size bag of HEB tortilla chips Two loaves of HEB Super Duper Butter Bread Two tubs of HEB uncured beef pastrami A squeeze bottle of Daisy sour cream A can of HEB diced tomatoes A can of HEB generic RO*TEL (diced tomatoes and green chilies) A three-pound chub of 80% lean ground beef chuck A 38-ounce bottle of Dawn Ultra dishwashing liquid A head of iceberg lettuce A package of Bar S sliced cotto salami A package of Bar S chicken bologna Four boxes of Red Baron four-meat frozen pizza (our default food when nobody wants to cook supper; we were out)
Found just how much we needed dishwashing liquid on the way home when my housemate and I were talking. My housemate did the dishes this morning. Didn't notice he was doing them with Axe body wash.

My housemate went grocery shopping Wednesday afternoon about two o'clock (after my weekly podiatrist appointment). He only got some cheap crummy bread that I all but refuse to eat. Well, this afternoon, we went out to a garage across the street from our local HEB and when we got done I asked if we could get some good bread. I convinced my housemate (he was driving) and I got out at HEB and bought the following for $4.96: Two twenty-ounce loaves of HEB Butter Bread
Turns out since the last time I had been in the store that the scooters were relocated. I asked a Partner to get one for me. He went off and got it. I asked him where they are now but he didn't answer me. I did see one by the center door when I left. I had to take the scooter to the other end of the store to get to the bread. Sat on the scooter and bought my bread at the self-checkout. I'm tight on money to next Wednesday (when I will get my Social Security Retirement) but I still have $23 in cash (plus some money in my checking account). Can't pay any bills to then but I only have a couple waiting to be paid.
Got home and when I looked in the fridge I discovered I should have also picked up some milk. My housemate also has funds and I think he's going to buy the milk because I only rarely drink it. Don't like the taste unless it's covered up with strawberry or chocolate.
