Hockey pucks dont taste worth a darn.
Fresh Walleye fried up in bacon grease over a campfire are much better.

No Canadiens posting (other than our guest). penngas is the only one active here. Rumbleseat signed up but hasn't posted anything. Herbiepopnecker started his own forum at gastalk.net. Happyherman never showed. There were a few other regular posters in the Canadian boards in "that other place" but none of them showed up. We could make fun of Canada here, but that wouldn't be polite.

It's okay to make fun of Canada, we do it to the U.S. all the time. Our prime minister wears Star Wars socks, there has to be a joke in there somewhere. lol!

Why all along I thought he was too young to wear them things ---- I was under the impression he was still in nappies and wrapped up in a blanket.......

Nope, he is old enough to venture out on his own now. He takes his light sabre with him though, just in case it gets dark. All joking aside, it is sometimes strange to have Trudeau as prime minister. Many people (including myself) have seen him since he was a child and watched him grow up in the public eye. Then he gets involved with politics and imediately people were wondering when he would try and get elected prime minister. Then he gets elected in a majority. Now the question is, can he stay elected as long as his father did. My guess is probably not because times have changed.

Nothing going on in Canadian politics? With Trudeau Jr at the helm, I thought there would be at least some controversy!

There is some controversy but it is to do with the individual provinces right now. Alberta and Saskatchewan want the oil pipeline to go west to British Columbia and British Columbia doesn't want it. Trudeau is stuck in the middle trying to please both sides which is an impossible feat. I don't envy him a bit on this one. I am in favour of the pipeline as long at it is done responsibly.

Don't think Justin has the conviction that his father had ...
I am disappointed that Justin can't seem to get past the social politics, and into the policy decisions that need to be made. Words are cheap ... we need actions now ... and those are not always so popular.
Remember that it isn't just Saskatchewan and Alberta vs BC ... there was also Energy East Pipeline and the Quebec response stopping THAT project.

Look like Trudeau is going to finally settle this whole pipeline issue in the west. I agree that he doesn't do things like his father did but he should. Pierre never cared whether doing something would get people's knickers in a bunch, he just did it. Justin would be much better off if he did that as well and get all these deals settled. Maybe he will deal with the Quebec issue after this. Trudeau To Push Ahead With Pipeline

Looks like Canadian politics, even with Trudeau Jr at the helm, is still dull and boring, so no one is posting.

A security guard yesterday opened fire with an assault rifle and threw molotov cocktails in the Edmonton City Hall.
He had posted video online that he was holding anyone responsible for the attacks against Gaza and said "allah willing we will rise again" and used other muslim 'code words' as the reason for what he was going to do.
Yet the Edmonton City Council and police say they don't have any idea of why he did what he did. 'He said other things too so it must have been those things that made him do it.'
When will anyone learn?
Police charge security guard after attack on Edmonton city hall; national security police probing incident
"A man accused of firing a gun and throwing homemade bombs in Edmonton city hall is facing a string of charges and is under investigation by national security police.
Police on Wednesday charged Bezhani Sarvar, 28, with six crimes including possession of incendiary material, arson, throwing explosives with intent to cause harm and reckless use of a weapon. The Commissionaires, which provides security services at city hall and other government buildings, confirmed Sarvar worked as a security guard for the company."
