will there be a site we can list the latest prices at the pump in the local area where we live like they did on gb? Doesn't look like this board is set up that way, lightbulb. There are some other places out there, but none that are really appealing. What seems to have made GB so attractive was the interface of posting prices, reading news and commenting on posts. That's still missing on most sites I've looked at.

Greetings, everyone! I still am not too happy with the GasBuddy Verified program, because it makes it more difficult to keep the Master Station List up to date. Suggesting changes via the app seems to take way to long (perhaps they are waiting for a second member to report the same change) and reporting changes via the help center is pretty time consuming. After waiting several weeks for Shell to get around to marking one of their stations as reopened following underground tank replacement, I finally submitted a request to the help center to change the station's status. I tacked on a remark about the verified program, and some of you may be interested in GasBuddy's reply. I wrote: "What's up with the Verified program? According to help.gasbuddy.com/hc/en-us/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&query=verified, "Verified stations are ones whose features and amenities are actively being kept up-to-date by the station..." However, my experience is that the Verified stations are not keeping their MSL records up to date at all. Meanwhile, since the MSL entries are locked, members cannot update the features in a timely manner without taking the lengthy amount of time required to submit a ticket to you." Giles of GasBuddy.com replied: "As for the verified program, we are working with the station to get updated info. Your patience is appreciated as we work on streamlining the process. Members are not currently locked out of suggesting updates but, if the updates are taking too long to appear, feel free to send updates via the support email."

If you can find a phone listing, try calling the district office for Shell and ask them if they can update the info. I've been trying to get in touch with Mobil to find out what's going on with the one station in my city that recently took over from Chevron. After a long wait, they finally opened, only to close the pumps a few days later. The attendant at the C store speaks very poor English, and hasn't been given any information.

I just ran across a Shell where the pumps are under construction, but the store is still open. Normally I'd want to mark it "Closed-Temporarily" but I figure by the time the staff gets to my request it'll be long reopened. Nobody's reporting any prices there, so I'll just let it pass.

It may be a station that is replacing their pumps. We've had a lot of them that are putting in new pumps with the capability to access the chip on a chip card around here. They're usually only out of service one day.

MF, some of the stations that showed E85 on GB were indeed E0, but that's b/c GB refused (geeeez wonder why?!) to put marine (non-ethanol) gas on the list. Thanks to our elected politicians, E0 is a dying product. It's almost like making listings for leaded gasoline (which can still be obtained for specific purposes). I saw some E0 on vacation earlier this month in Oklahoma, but it was a ridiculous $0.50/gallon higher than E10 (which the station also had; interestingly enough, they had only 87 octane regular gasoline). I rejected the allegedly superior product without raising an eyebrow.

it would be nice to see a list of current pump prices in the area you live and you can update the prices as needed...

Sneakers: Well, some of us need the marine gas for exactly that purpose and in some areas, it is very much alive due to marine use.

GB in your area should have them, but again, with the site having gone so commercial, there are lots of folks who no longer really care. Maybe they're disillusioned, maybe they just don't give a rat's tail...

There is a site where you can see current prices and also update -- it's called Gas Buddy. No need to throw out the baby with the bath water. Use this site for social media and GB for prices. I post there, because I buy gas and I want to know where I can find the least expensive Top Tier wherever I happen to be.

MadF caught me as well before the forum delete.
=I've seen the mismatch after branding update as well, specifically Shell to Valero, BP to Valero, Texaco to CEFCO, Kangaroo to Exxon, probably more, that's all that I remember. =The no power/no gas/no diesel checks in the App don't seem to have any effect for me.
=I suggested a station addition in the App and a month later they still hadn't done it. I emailed and they wanted more info. I replied that I supplied it all in the app. I finally added it on the website and GB had the no power/gas/diesel checked teh next time I passed by. I've given up clearing it even though people are reporting changing gas and diesel prices.
To be the largest crowd-sourced database in the world, they make it hard for those of us doing the work to keep them updated!

I have seen a few stations redo their pumps, or the connections to them - but so far only one chain around me (Speedway) has put in the new readers. They only switched out the readers and not the pumps themselves. This one may be putting in new pumps that can accommodate them, so maybe that was a good thought anyway, but they may have also wanted to do something like add pay-at-pump for diesel (so many added diesel as an afterthought). Anyhow, same result.

As for the gas/diesel/power - that usually takes a few minutes and a refresh to show up. I too have seen that when I add a station, or mark it open after it's been closed, that the gas/diesel/power tracker will tend to show no gas/diesel. I just update that through the suggestions and move on, but I do find that strange and quirky. And yes, they seem bent on creating more obstacles to getting correct station and feature information posted. The Verified program, as I've said before, just serves to lock in errors and negligence.
