I agree with your explanation and cannot think of anything to add, well done.
I totally agree that Marketing has too much pull and occasionally gets things pushed out without being completely thought through.

1st - 6.0.1.21182 is a valid version of the Android app. 6.0.1 21182 is.
2nd - if the member who started this topic is "unfamiliar with the releases of Android as I am those of other O/S's" why was this subject started?
3rd - you can ask to have the title of this subject changed but the Android and iPhone apps are different enough to warrant their own subjects. Combining them could get very confusing.

Since scoutmaster is a known and deliberate troll (by his/her own admission), I think it would be best to simply ignore him/her when she comes to troll here. He/she has his/her own thread on this topic, and, as he/she has stated, it is his/her OWN thread - unwelcome to newcomers and non-registered folks (which, of course, is the reason that this thread was started). I have never admitted to being a troll and I am not a troll. I have never stated the subject I started long before this one that is about the same thing was unwelcome to anyone. |

I dont know if repeated harping about "skin in the game" and unnamed "reprecussions" can be considered trolling, but I can attest that it does make some people who it is directed at feel unwelcome. Guests who check in occasionally aren't just here to stir things up. That's just ridiculous unless you consider asking questions or using common Internet terminology like "beta track" to be upsetting? There are several members and guests still waiting to hear what the "repercussions" are when one registers with the site? This dodge is perturbing and sure feels like a troll. If there are "repercussions", then please tell us what they are? I really dont think you can scoutmaster. I read comments by the founder of these boards that clearly stated guests are welcome. A person like myself can register and still remain just as anonymous. I mean, scoutmaster isnt your real name is it? If anyone is a troll, it's gashole. This member came into the subject I started to disrupt, not to further the subject along in any way. That is a troll. And, SheKnowsItAll, you never answered my question. |

scoutmaster, if you really want someone to answer a question, you should start by answering their question first. But you never intend to list the "repercussions" as "skin in the game" once having registered? Instead, you respond with the same tired interogatory. I believe I've answered you, if you take the time to read what Ive said. I see no difference in registered or guest. We are just as anonymous either way. It is only you and you alone who suggests without any basis that there is a difference. Please tell us what the difference is? SheKnowsItAll isnt my real name (even though my hubby frequently calls me this) and I'll bet the butter and egg money that you aren't really scoutmaster. We have decided to visit and communicate on a web site where our real identity is disguised by a nickname. This was true over in the old forum too. I have read some of your antics and behavior on the old boards. At times, I thought some of the gasbuddys were hard on you. But after some of the remarks you've made here, and the way you dodge direct questions, I can see how they were frustrated. No one ever asked for a list of repercussions. I was a scoutmaster when I signed up for Gas Buddy and I kept the name when I signed up for this site. Not signing up is your call. IMO, I think it's just to hide and be able to pretty much do and say what you want with no or little repercussions. Again IMO. Frustrated? In what way? |

I suggest that we try and salvage this topic/thread/discussion by only addressing any off topic (Andoid GasBuddy app) scoutmaster posts in this one in the topic/thread/discussion that he started and keep this one to discussing new Android deliveries and functions. If he continues to disrupt this one with negativity to guests or complaining that posters don't use his preferred terms to use or avoid ( such as he did with " beta track") he will just be proving he is a troll, or a very intolerant individual. The individual starting this GBO site is very familiar with scoutmaster from the old boards as many here have observed in the past on the old boards. No different than you. We need to be pleasant with each other and not obsess about past interactions with someone/s from the other board that we didn't get along with over there. Let it go.

My behavior on this site until gashole sent the subject I started sideways has been excellent.
Get the terminology correct. Is it really that hard to do?

It appears 6.0.1 21183 is a beta release. The last general release seems to be 6.0.1 21181.
Staged rollouts are very common in most software and OS releases.
No answer to the question. Typical.

My husbby (HeKnowsItAll) and I just finished reading through several lengthy discussions on the old gasbuddy boards where scoutmaster used this same method to aggravate and argue with other gasbuddies. I have to say that some of the reactions scoutmaster has trolled for and induced from other writers were quite funny. Some were hilarious! Scoutmaster never answers questions, often claiming that he wasnt asked in the first place and he frequently disavows his own statements even though they are in plain sight for anyone who bothers to look. He responds to questions with questions and rarely can justify his claims. It is amazing how many gasbuddies he has made enemies of. Not very many have anything good to say about him. This conversation is heading the same direction as those that scoutmaster has instigated as far back as 2010. HeKnowsItAll says I need to go back to lurking. Good luck with this guy. From what I've read, you're all gonna need it. Interesting. Unless you have topics saved on your computer from the old site, there is no way to view the old forums. They are gone! And why would you have topics from the old site saved on your computer? I never answer question? Never? And you can prove that? I disavow my statements? Please tell me where. Better yet, post a link in this topic. I've got tons of friends on GasBuddy. There is a handful of GasBuddy members who had a problem with me. They never signed up for this site. They lurk and post as guests. I'm gonna guess I'm not going to get an answer to any of the questions I just posted since the person who I'm responding to is just a lurker. |

HeKnowsItAll uses his fuel log infrequently, but he said that the input has been functioning this way there for some time. I have not noticed this until now, and I'm a more frequent poster than he is, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't been this way for a while.
I'm headed back into lurking for a bit because we have grandkids here now. I'd like to thank everyone for the helpful responses to my questions and kind words. I appreciate it.

Whether the functionality is new or not must depend on operating system. It was new for me with Android 6.0.
I checked before updating, I was on v... 21183, and price entry was left to right. I never saw v... 21184 (general). I don't use the GB Fuel Log.
Entry changed for me after installing v... 21185. Seems foreign to me, but NBD, I'll easily get used to it. I probably haven't seen it in other apps because I don't use that many others. Just checked and found that my pc spreadsheet entries are right to left, so I may not have noticed if it had not been in the notes.
I can't believe it took so long for them to fix the Drives page. what they did was so minimalistic.
