Rays finally found their "hitting shoes" or should I say "hitting bats" as they won a couple of games recently.

The Rays have started to hit the ball and are winning more games. Maybe they were just off to a very, very slow start. On the other-hand, Baltimore's record is worst then the Rays record.

Rays dump the salaries of OF Denard Span and closer Alex Colome on the Mariners for minor league pitchers Andrew Moore and Tommy Romero. Neither Moore or Romero are listed as a top 30 prospect for the Mariners or the Rays.

Not surprised about Alex Colome as he has not been very sharp this year. Rays are about 2 games below 500, which does surprise me. Guess the young kids are showing what they have, and it is not bad at all. Mostly good.

It's true that Colome was not performing to expectations with the Rays. The problem I see with the trade to the Mariners is that Rays management could have gotten so much more for Colome had they traded him prior to Spring Training.

No one said that the Rays management is very smart. We stopped going to the games about two years ago because they keep trading away the "good" players. We know we won't go at all if the move the team to Tampa, and a lot of people feel that way. To far to drive. And, unless the management puts a good product on the field attendance won't improve. A new stadium and a new location won't improve attendance.

Actually as of today they are .509. I left the "." out on the other post, but have corrected it.

In a losing effort because he did not get run support from his teammates Blake Snell struck out the first seven Mariners he faced. The left-hander tied Joe Cowley and Carlos Rodon, both of the White Sox, for the AL record for most strikeouts to open a start and finished one short of the MLB record. Snell also bested the Tampa Bay record of six.

Rays have forgotten how to hit a baseball. Bring up new kids. Might as well give them a chance. Never know.

Today the Rays win with a walk off, and sweep Jays without true starter. Most of the team is now made up of rookies. Maybe there is some hidden talent there. I hope so. Next up -- four games with the Yankees.

What a weekend at the Trop. The Rays swept the big, bad Yankees. I never would have predicted that in a million years!
