Sure miss the GB days when honeydog would post all her gardening ideas and projects and people talked about gardening in this topic. I was out of town too much in the beginning of the season, and still, so no garden for me this year.

CG, yeah, and I liked it a lot the summer (summers?) that dirt girl was on it answering our questions, and rjgimp offered me some dirt with manure mixed in. That was very nice of him and I took him up on it. I only have a balcony, so my "garden" is in pots. I bought five starter plants recently. More than I intended, b/c lugging the water out there is becoming a harder and harder chore. But I couldn't narrow down the tomato kinds I wanted, and couldn't resist one that says it is baby eggplant. I don't think my pots are really large enough for any of them, but I use what I have. I'd probably get bigger yields, but so be it. I haven't gotten them potted yet. That's always the hardest part.

Just found 4 Monarch chrysalis and saw 4 more caterpillars. Both are small but we will see what nature has in store.

Had 4 out of 6 Monarch butterflies emerge and flyaway. Took a pic of one that did not make it and sent it to Butterfly World to look at (ask for permission first). They said it was just nature for the reason it did not emerge.

It was a Jungle out front, tomorrow would have been 3 weeks since I performed the last trim and mow, but the last week had rains galore and I use an electric mower a NONO with wet sussoundings. More rains today I am sure, but got the job done, grass bagged and in the garbage bin. Place looks like million Pesos !!! I need a couple of ice cold Brewskies in a hurry !

We have four monarch butterfly chrysalis! One has emerged healthy. The others should be making their entrance in the next few days. They surprised me as I did not see any butterflies flying around in the garden for several weeks. Sure are sneaky those Monarchs! Put the birdfeeder out for the migrating birds to have some extra food to eat.

Our Lovely TEENY WINNIE Silver Buttonwood Tree that we planted (Got it from a Redlands Nursery a few days back, just about 3 feet tall, but straight as an arrow into the Heavens) in the Front Yard Tuesday, Nov 26th is doinn GREAT. Got some metal suporting gizmo stuck in the ground behind "Copihue" to keep it in place when heavy winds come and I made marks when it was planted, the lovely tree has grown at least 10 centimeters already !!!!

Before Mother In Law fell ill and since 2 yrs in Paliative Care at home, The wife and I with Vitas we take care of her almost 24-7 we have been stranded at home without vacations for quite a while, but she's 95, turning 96 Christmas Day and one of these days when she's no longer around, hopefully we will be in good shape to travel some more again, Canada and Mexico, specially South of The Border have been our most visited places, when you talk about the Monarchs it brings back memories from Michoacan when they beging arriving in the Nearness of Jungapeo and we have been there in Late Octover/November...What a magic sight that is !!! Wow...We wanna be back in Mexico so Baaad, we just have to wait and play it by ear. Later gascat, we are finally trying to get a qualified person to stay here after the Holidays for 2 - 3 days to take care of mother in law so that we both can go to Indians Rocks to go visit Mom and Sisters in nearby Largo. The last trip there was for me alone and it's been a loooong 6-7 months since. Later

The Grass Plugs of ALL days came in yesterday on Sunday...We have them out back in semi shade and sun, and watering them according to instructions. Today was an impossible task to plant them, but tomorrow we have the AM to do that project. I will go to the LAF Gym a tad later than usual and swing by the Home Depot less than a mile from there at 6AM for a couple of bags of Good Dirt for the plugs to get goin (on the way back home.) !!
