Nice and quiet yesterday. No heavy equipment working around the town. It was a beautiful sunny day w/the temp rising to the mid 70's w/ a low dew point. More of the same today. Yet rain is the way for tomorrow.

Should have dried out some -- hopefully you didn't get drenched.
I rented a chain saw on Sunday and took care of that tree that came down when the hurricane passed thru. Now I've got a huge burn pile!

Having two days of rain. Back to standing puddles in many places. The state and the towns continue to back fill the roads. Still can not drive from one town to another. What a mess and a giant hassle. Towns are making gravel as fast as they can to fill the voids.

Sounds like the towns are doing what they can. Doesn't sound like the fix will withstand the next major event but under the circumstances, that just can't be attempted now.
Nice day here with a brief shower. I walked holes for the first time in a while, playing 2 (or more) balls most of the time. Over 2 miles in the soupy heat.

Lots of rock and stones will keep the road beds solid. Tho w/all the hills and mtns in the area, I'm sure some roads will wash out in the future downpours. It's the nature of gravity. We still can't drive thru many towns.

Gonna be a while before they get all that repaired. Fortunately, it's still July so there's a lot of time before winter.
Played 18 today at a hilly course but was solo in a cart, so not a ton of walking.

It was a pleasant sunny summer day in full sun. Still have standing water on the walkways, the lawn and driveway. The sun and heat is to be thru Tues. Then 5 days of rain to soak everything. It never rained this much here, or had so many t-storms.

I wonder where your weathermaker is coming from? It's to be dry here thru sometime Monday when we may get some pop up tstorms but nothiing drenching. Same for Tuesday. I guess if that's the source, when you're already saturated, you don't need another drop.
My lawn's looking battered. Not sure rain by Monday will be soon enough to do much good. Thinking I may overseed the dead areas in September with a heat resistant seed that requires less moisture.

Two of the weather forecasters are from dif areas of the country and are new to New England weather. For $150k a year they are giving it a shot. They did learn the art of meteorology in college. It's mostly accurate.

My question was more directed to what weather system was supposed to be bringing rain starting Tuesday? It's been dry here all day and they've backed off any possibility of showers until morning. Then it's just scattered, pop up showers -- not really substantial unless you get several of them. Totally hit or miss.
I do see a fairly large system on radar that's centered between NYC and Boston and heading inland, rotating counter clockwise like a tropical storm. Maybe that's going to head northeast tomorrow.

The weather forecast for this has changed. From 5 days of rain tin a row to 5 of the next 7 days of rain starting Wed. The standing puddles did dry up only to return later in the week. Can remember it did not rain for months in the summer most years. Or rained just enough to water the flowers. Lots of extra rain this year.

You're definitely having a wet year. That system I noted yesterday has moved north and spread out but looks to be bothering eastern NY and Vermont today.
I played 18 today, subbing in a league. The course wasn't in great shape with lots of burned out areas in the fairways and also places on the greens. We got a few sprinkles during the round, but we were able to get it in. I walked about 2 miles.

Now the forecast is for rain tonight, tomorrow and for 4 days. 1 sunny day on Friday, then 2 more days of t-storms. Extra rainy here that is not needed. Twice as much rain as what usually is in the area. In fact there are more rainy days then sunny days. What gives?

The guessers just keep changing their guess and never explain why they blew it. I've seen one guy hold himself accountable but he's in Philly now. It would be nice if the guessers would explain why it's so wet but they don't.
Played 18 again today. Walked 2 miles.

The forecast is for rain/ t-storms the next 7 out of 9 days. Not looking forward to the rain. Have standing water on my property from rain the last few days. Need some dry 80° days to dry up the ground.
