You bet Dirt Girl, so l bought 2 pints anyway and squeezed them in front. Have to be careful opening freezer door, so nothing falls on the arch of my foot. That was a painful injury and l learned to step back and can pick up what falls later before closing door again.
I got strawberry and l got vanilla. Already have chocolate in the Gelato so l am set for a few weeks.
I did spend some time cooking again yesterday and now have some very tasty and so tender pieces of pork from recipes on line and first saw on Cooks Country. Pork Grillades. Oh boy it is good.

I agree, it's important to have ice cream in the freezer. But I don't eat it much in winter, so the space has gotten filled up with other things. I'll have to find more room for it when summer finally gets here. My freezers are so full, I'm making an effort to eat more from them now. It's hard to remember what's in the back and to get to it. My upright freezer has a lock, so if I squeeze a lot in I can lock it so it won't pop open. That's a huge relief. My refrigerator freezer is a different story. I have to be more careful with that one and sometimes it's hard to figure out what's making it pop open. Also the gasket around it has an area where it doesn't hold. I have packaging tape over that part to keep the cold air in, and have to check it almost constantly. Last week I took a TJ's cauliflower pizza out to look at what was beneath it in the basket. Then I forgot to put it back in. It was out more than 24 hours, too long for it to be edible. I hope Jr has gotten his ice house off the lake, or it will be in the lake.

Goldie l had been eating out of my freezer to , like you, empty it out a bit , for the past couple of months and surprised me how low my food budget got.. But this month l started wanting things l can't get in restaurants or saw recipes on Cooks Country, and wanted to try and now...it is so full l will have to use your trick of locking it. But when l open things fall out and that can get dangerous. I got a terrible bruise one time on the top of a foot that stayed for a very long time.
Just popped in to see if junior fan got back home. Didn't figure he would miss his Friday lunch with daughter.
Things are going well with me and one more month then the flu season will definitely be over and l will have successfully avoided it first year in a long time.
I couldn't find any chocolate easter eggs at Wallys yesterday except peanut butter ones and so l will go to Dollar store today and see if they have any and l need to get some hangers for my plants anyway.

Tru, OUCH! Frozen food can be like a brick falling on your foot. I've found that when I lock my freezer it must push things in enough so when I open it it'll stay shut on it's own. Unless I've disturbed their equilibrium or added more. The items most likely to fall out of mine are from the door, and they'll usually the smaller items. I store my water jugs from the store on the floor near the freezer, so I can't always stand directly in front of it. Now I know from your experience, that can be a good thing.

Our local L & B stores are having a one day flash sale of Ben and Jerry's ice cream for 99¢ a pint. Limit one. It probably isn't worth a special trip (for me) but if I make it out, I'll stop by.

goldie, Are you on L & B's email list is that how you know about the flash sale?
I found that if you close the refrigerator door and your freezer is real full, the motion will cause the freezer door to pop open. Now, everytime I close the fridge door, I automatically push on the handle to the freezer door to make sure it hasn't popped open.

DG, yes, I am on their email list. Every Thursday they have an email with an email special of the week, that is something free or reduced price with a $10 purchase. That used to be something I'd want more often than it is now, but I still look at it every week. I think this week's is a bake it yourself baguette for 99¢). Lately they've started having these "flash sale" items in between. Sometimes it requires a $10 purchase, sometimes like the B & J ice cream it doesn't. I've found that you can just write down the PLU instead of printing the coupon, and often the cashier or store manager will know it even if you don't have either with you. They do the same thing with text messages but I don't do those. If you find yourself in a L & B store making a $10 or more purchase ask what that week's special is. I suppose I could be asking about the text special, too, but I don't.
I, too, push the freezer door shut (or tighter) every time I open the fridge, and since it's right next to the kitchen doorway I now push it every time I enter the kitchen.

I was thinking asparagus Frittata for Easter brunch til l looked up the recipe. Too many steps. Plain ole scrambled eggs for us. Of course with ham and special rolls, scalloped potatoes and jams and applesauce etc.

Tru, you could still add asparagus to your scrambled eggs w/o going to the trouble of a frittata. I add things to my scrambled eggs all the time. Usually spinach or other greens, and crimini mushrooms, maybe some goat cheese or whatever. Asparagus would be good. It's easy and yummy. Just a thought. DG, I see that L & B has asparagus on sale for $1.79/# That's a very good price. Probably not worth a special trip unless you're there or nearby or want other something else from there. I used to steam it, ie cook it in a fry pan with a little bit of water. Lately I've been roasting it, and like the other veggies I roast, I eat the whole pan full as soon as it's cool enough to get it into my mouth. YUM!!! I can eat the whole pound (or however much was in the bunch) at one time. Can't stop. I just put some EVOO and smoked salt on it, roast, and go to town. I figure if I'm going to binge on something, it might as well be roasted veggies. Or salad. I do that, too. Or used to; haven't been making salads as much as I used to. I hope I will again when the weather changes. Also, I haven't been going to vp lately. Now I'm making myself hungry. BTW, I've been using that Gotham steel copper griddle I bought recently at half price b/c it was damaged, as my roasting pan. It's marvelous. I just lay the veggies out on it, mix with EVOO and smoked salt, cook, and it cleans up in seconds. And I don't even have to waste any parchment paper. I love it. However, I wonder about the efficiency of the Gotham Steel Copper pots. In oven roasting the heat surrounds it, but on top of the stove it has to be conducted, and steel is not supposed to be a good conductor of heat. I bought a set that I haven't opened yet, and wonder if I should return it in favor of something else. Not a big set, just three pieces, and it was on clearance. But if it doesn't cook well, it's not worth it.

I got asparagus at Costco for $4.45 for 40 oz. 2lbs 4 oz. The slim kind my son likes. I prefer a fatter stem myself. I think it is onsale in town, but l was at Costco and got everything at once. Ham, scalloped potatoes, and crescent rolls.

tru, Sometimes it's just easier to get everything you need at once. It certainly saves time. Sometimes the time saved makes up for the price difference.

My son took all the asparagus home with him. So it really matters not the price. He also took the ham leaving me 2 long slices. And gave me more of the potatoes than l wanted etc. But l don't like to keep too much as l tire of same ole leftovers. I don't like frozen ham.
Stuffed full freezers we all have. Aren't we so fortunate? l see starving people in other countries again.
