In looking for another site , l ran across this one and would like to get it started again. Some good thoughts here and some that belong on other threads more political or some on my "what bugs you" but that is ok too. Just don't take over the thread completely with your politics please.
I have opinions and l like to express them occasionally with out being told to "prove" it. Opinions are such. Not arguments.
So today my opinion is that l like the time zones to get together so when l make a call at 8 or 8 a.m. l am not told the office isn't open yet. Or for other reasons l think the daylight savings or regular time should settle down on one or the other as well. I just prefer it agree with other states.

In my opinion this life is just moving too fast. I thought l had a nice slow paced life for a minute or two then all H broke loose and l am looking forward to being slow and dull again. But it has to happen once in awhile or we would not appreciate it would we?

IMO those bumpy yellow things at the corner of every block and coming out of stores are a dreadful idea. Sure l understand the thought was to help the blind, but wet they are so slippery l have nearly fallen, and dry they jar my teeth out of my head. Going over them in a scooter with a hand held shopping cart. It was and is a bad idea. Dangerous and waste of money to top it all.

IMO doctors do not take all history of patients in consideration before giving a prescription enough. They simply give a prescription based on their information on what it will do. But patients are all different in health issues, reactions to drugs and drugs they are already taking. It is also incumbent on the patient to be pro active. I am afraid l was too trustful of my doctor's knowledge recently and am now suffering for it.

IMO what you describe is caused by the pressures that insurance companies place on their in-network physicians to treat more patients, limiting the amount of time spent with each. If we go with the socialized medicine schemes such as "Medicare for All," that problem will only get worse, something I don't think the advocates of that program really understand.

GTH l have medicare and l love it. I don't waste a dr;s time , l go with list in hand explaining issues and for questions. Still in some cases l note dr puts down for long visit. Usually specialists do that for the first visit. They want the money.
It is hard to find drs that accept medicare. I am fortunate right now. I carry extra insurance tho and it costs just as much as l paid for private insurance when younger. I pay $295 a month , so l don't have to have $40 co pay cash on hand when l have an emergency, to see my dr. Or more to go to ER.
I am so grateful for medicare and wish everyone had it available to them as a base. Then they could add extra coverage like l do.

Our government is being run into the ground. Our allies are looking askance at us while our leader sidles up to our enemies and kisses you know what. IMO we cannot stand much more of this charade.
We used to be called the "ugly american" now we are called and deserve it, much worse. I am so embarrassed no, beyond that, humiliated by our leader. How much more of this can our country stand?

We used to be called the "ugly american" now we are called and deserve it, much worse. I am so embarrassed no, beyond that, humiliated by our leader. How much more of this can our country stand? We need at least one of our major political parties to nominate decent candidates for office. That didn't happen in 2016.
And we really should have 2 good candidates, so political views don't trap us into supporting an otherwise unacceptable choice.
So we got what we got.
And I see no prospects for improvement in 2020.
How did this happen? Look to We the People.
We won't get better until we demand better.
In 2016, the GOP had lots of decent alternatives to Donald J. Trump. But they crowded each other out, leaving only the reality show star to stand out. As for the Democrats, the Clinton Machine so dominated the party that no strong (let alone honest) challengers to Hillary were viable.
Democrats should demand better from the Democratic Party, and Republicans from the GOP.

IMO the Democratic people running for office of President any would be an improvement but l like some of the things with each of the people and not all. I haven't settled on any one so far but we are just getting started. As far as the Gop in 2016, most were bullied out of that election and the biggest bully was left .There were many good, at least better, choices than trump and he had help that got him elected as the Russians interfered in several ways to help him.
