Xerox Tower - Rochester, NY. Built in 1967, designed by Welton Becket. It has been claimed that the building's design was intended to resemble one of the original World Trade Center towers in New York City, which were in the design phase at the time. Xerox vacated the building in 2018, and the building is being converted into university student housing for several of the colleges in Rochester. When completed the complex will be renamed Innovation Square. A to Z anything you find interesting in your state or province. Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Jerusalem "The church contains, according to traditions dating back to at least the fourth century, the two holiest sites in Christianity: the site where Jesus was crucified, at a place known as Calvary or Golgotha, and Jesus's empty tomb, where he was buried and resurrected. The tomb is enclosed by a 19th-century shrine called the Aedicula." A to Z any religious site, anywhere in the world this round. X may be skipped. Dome of the Rock - a Muslim shrine dating from 691 A.D. on the summit of Mount Moriah in Jerusalem, Israel. The site of the shrine is considered sacred to Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Some believe Adam was created here. Some believe it is where Abraham was initially asked to sacrifice Isaac, but was relieved of that request. It was the site of the First Jewish Temple built by King Solomon, as well as the site of the Second Jewish Temple which existed during the life of Jesus. Muslims believe it is the site where Muhammad ascended into heaven. The exposed summit rock of Mount Moriah can be seen under the dome, and a prayer room has been excavated under the summit.
