The other teams do not need to use performance enhancing drugs to win. It is a shame Y's fan accept wins any way they can get it. MLB changed forever in 2004. The Red Sox have super young talent on the field and in the batter's box. David Price, Chris Sale, and Rick Porcello are magnificent on the mound. Steve Wright, Velazquez, Rodriguez, Johnson, Pomeranz, Kimbrel, Joe Kelly and others will all have their go in rotation this year. All are excellent pitchers. The Red Sox not only have the edge, it's plain to see by the facts, they clearly have the advantage.

Hello, MidnightSun. Spoken like a true New Englander. I have to disagree with you, but that's why they play the games. It seems to me that on paper, the Yankees have the edge this year at C, SS, CF, and RF. The Sox in LF, 2B, 3B, and 1B. Boston probably has a better rotation, and the Yankees have a better bullpen, so it sure will be fun when they get together. One thing we can probably agree on, Yankee Stadium and Fenway are hallowed grounds for baseball fans.

First Yankee game of the year will be on Thursday, March 29, at 3:37 EDT at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Yikes! Baseball in March.

Cold in March any place up north. Like the warm, come mid to late April Sounds like you know some baseball.

Hey, Midnight Sun. You're right. I was a Pirate fan growing up in western PA. Even have Mazeroski's Home Run in the seventh game of the 1960 World Series etched in my brain forever. But my family moved to a New Jersey when I was 12. I remember going into Yankee Stadium for the first time and seeing that green grass and blue sky. When I retired and moved back to PA, I stayed with the Yankees. Do you get to see any Red Sox games? When I was in Boston for a convention years ago I walked over to Fenway just to "feel" the ghosts of great teams past. Pretty awesome!

Hmmm. How 'bout a 6'7", 282 pound leadoff batter! Aaron Judge batted first today, and is in consideration to leadoff at times during the season. Why not? He walks a lot, and the leadoff batter often gets 5 at bats per game.

Saw yesterday's game. Judge was struck out. Y's only had just 2 hits, w/5 batters being struck out. Final was Red Sox 5 - Y's 0.
Grew up not 3 miles from Fenway Park. My dad and uncles took me to Fenway many times in my youth. Most memorable game was seeing Ted Williams last at bat getting home run. Dad told me , "Only Ted can do that." Used to always go to the park to see the Y's vs the Sox. Those games were so exciting to me. Missed going to games in the 5 years living in LA. Never went to a Cal ballpark. Went right back to the park when returning to the East Coast forever. Went to a min of 6 games a year driving from northern NH, 'til night and distance driving was no longer fun.
Going back to to performance enhancing drugs, the Y's have more players getting caught using. The Red Sox have none. ARod was banned for the remainder of the late 2013 season and all of 2014 — 211 games in all. He has admitted using now-banned performance-enhancing substances while playing for the Texas Rangers from 2001 to 2003, before players were tested. Rodriguez's suspension cost him $38 million in salary in 2014 and ended his career. It's not just a dishonor for him, it dishonors the team, and all of baseball. That salary is tainted, just like the statistics are.
What bothers me the most is performance enhancing drugs doesn't seem to bother the Y fans. Any win, by any means, is a win. See you at the park.

Watched one of the Yankee split squad games against the Braves this afternoon. From the Uh-Oh department, Greg Bird was scratched to get an MRI on his right foot. Deja Vu 2017.

Final tune up tonight at Sun Trust Field in Atlanta. It will be great to see the "A" teams in a real big league stadium again.

Greg Bird will undergo surgery tomorrow to remove a small broken spur on the outside of his ankle. 6-8 week recovery time. Picking up Neil Walker during spring training is looking like a good investment!

Teslukbla - Yes, he sure does have a hard time avoiding the DL. You hate to give up on potential like that, but this is the third year of DL & rehab. By the way, thank you for creating this thread.

Yankees - 6 Blue Jays - 1 One of those days when everything went just as planned. This is the youngest Yankee team since 1993.
