Lorando you need to invite some other Yank fans to the board so you have some company. You're from Western PA? I know some wacked out insane Steeler and Penguin fans here. Most likely they're Pirates fans too. Not sure why.
Anyway I'm a Sox fan. You're welcome to post in that thread and throw some smack if you like. It's all good natured.

Yankees. 10 Red Sox. 7
Well, it took 3 games, but the Boston-New York rivalry was renewed for the new generation of players (and managers). Looked like a rugby scrum. Fairly tame by 1990's standards, but everyone knew it was coming. I'm sure General Managers lose sleep fearing damage to one of their million dollar investments.
Hi, airfresh - I lived most of my life in NJ, so I got to see quite a few games at Yankee Stadium, but never the Red Sox. Moved here after I retired. Thanks for the invitation, if you haven't rescinded it after last night's game.

Ha no rescinding. It's a good rivalry. I don't hate the Yanks like I used to. Must be age. Or the 3 championships since 04. Actually the comeback from down 0-3 pretty much erased the hate.

Yankees 3 Red Sox 6
No Yankee highlights in this game. You would have to choose the least of the "lowlights"! But nice to see a good game by Rick Porcella, who was a local phenom in high school, when I lived in NJ.

For the most part Porcello has been good year bad year. Last year was bad year this year so far is good year so we'll see. Too bad for your Yanks lorando. Uh... well ... not really.

Yankees 8 Tigers 6 Got to see a rare treat last night. No, not a Yankee victory, but an inside the park home run by Aaron Hicks., who also had a conventional home run. Ranks right up there with a squeeze bunt, no-hitter, cycle, triple play, etc.
Morning', airfresh. Hopefully (for me) the Yanks will come out stronger because of the early adversity and injuries. Next Yankee-Sox series: May 8 at the Stadium.

May 8th? Looking forward to it. I went to one game in NY. Old stadium game 4 World Series .... 1978 LOL Don't remember much about it. Controversial play at 2nd base with Reggie and maybe a HR by him as well. The most memorable thing about the day (night by then) is my girlfriend and a guy friend who went with me all got lost taking the wrong subway on the way to where we parked. Ended up in Harlem. 3 ghost white kids from a very small all white farm town in Mass never been to a big city of any kind. People where looking at us like... where's the space ship that dropped them and from what planet are they from?

Yankee/Tiger game postponed - rain
Yanks will probably call up Gleyber Torres this week to add some punch to the infield. I think Tyler Wade's batting average is well below the "Mendoza Line".
airfresh - Wow! You saw a World Series game in Yankee Stadium. I'm impressed (and envious). Even more impressed that you and your "Space Ship" made it back to MA. The only time I was in Boston, I got off track too. I was staying at a downtown hotel, and I could actually see it in the distance, but it took forever to get there with all the construction, dead ends, and one-way streets. At one point I drove back out all the way to Newton and started from scratch. At least in most of NY there's a grid pattern. But it was well worth the aggravation. I really loved Boston.

Boston is a great city. Better for walking than driving for sure. So many one ways going in what seems like no logical direction. Once you get off track it's insane trying to get back on. I haven't seen so much construction recently. I live in what eastern Mass sees as a different country... western Mass. Actually the best depiction of how east dwellers view us in the west is an old New Yorker cover that showed route 495 which is a north/south highway that cuts across the state about 20 west of Boston. In the pic there is 495 and to the immediate west of that is the Pacific ocean.
The title of the cover is... A Bostonian's view of the world.

Yankees get postponed 2 days in a row in Detroit. Now the Yankees will have to make an additional trip to Detroit to play a doubleheader on June 4th.

Let's try the National League. Miami at New York @ 6:35 EDT. And no, Derek Jeter won't make the trip.
Airfresh - You're right about Boston being a great walking town. One of my interests is reading about the American Revolution, so I was in my element walking the Freedom Trail. Plus going aboard Old Ironsides was a treat and tromping around Bunker (Breed's) Hill with no one around was almost ghostly. Just started reading a new book today about the British prison ship, the HMS Jersey. Hope you have a great day.

The Yankees are having fun with the Marlins pitching staff this evening.

Teslukbla, yep, the Yankee offense and pitching were in sync tonight. 6 shutout innings for Severino, and 2 home runs for Didi Gregorius. Final score: MIami 1 NYY 12

Marlins 9 Yankees 1
What a sloppy game for the Yankees. Poor starting and relief pitching & poorer hitting with men in scoring position (0 for 10), little league fielding, and a DH, who makes $68,493 per day, 365 days per year, who is batting .190, and looks completely lost at Yankee Stadium. Yikes! I had to turn it off after 6 innings, when they were losing 7-0. But, maybe today's the day they find the spark! That's the beauty of baseball.

It's an off day before the Yankees host the Blue Jays tomorrow. Yankee fans are on a Gleyber Torres watch, to see when he's called up from AAA. There's a position waiting for him at second or third base.
