Just reading some of the Yankee and former Yankee reactions to Robbie Cano's drug suspension.
Good Grief. Even I knew it was just a matter of time before he and Melky Cabrera got nailed. That's why management got rid of them. The Yankees wouldn't let a "Hall of Fame" second baseman go to Seattle without a good reason.
A few players expressed shock and surprise. Thumbs down to them!
Cheers to Mark Texiera for being a stand-up guys when asked.

Yankees 3 Royals 5
Didn't see the game, but it's reported the Yankees looked sluggish. No wonder! They were on their chartered flight from Washington DC to Kansas City from 10PM Thursday until 8:30 AM Friday. First the plane had an engine problem. Then the crew couldn't fly because of a rule limiting hours. The team and entourage of 90 had already checked out of their DC hotel, so they stayed on the plane. To top it off, they hadn't played since Tuesdays rain suspended game. Looking for a bounce-back tonight.

Yankees 8 Royals 3
Nice comeback after a tough game Friday. Aaron Hicks had his second inside the park home run of the season. Other home runs by Torres, Sanchez, Sanchez again, and Stanton. Luis Severino's 7th win.
I remember going to a Royals game at the old Municipal Stadium in K.C. in 1971. Kaufmann Stadium is quite a step up - a beautiful place for a ballgame.

Yankees 10 Royals 1
Yankees teed off on Eric Skogland and the Royals to win their 8th straight series. Home runs by Tyler Austin, Tyler Austin again, Aaron Hicks, Miguel Andujar and Austin Romine. But the big story was Sonny Gray's pitching. What a difference. No calling off signs, no walking off the mound between pitches, no negative body language. Just get the sign and throw. Possible that Greg Byrd might be back in a week or so, with McKinney and Kahnle right behind!

Yankees 10 Rangers 5
Masahiro Tanaka didn't have his splitter, but when your team puts up 5 home runs, it was enough. Third game in a row the Yankees have hit 4 or more home runs. This time, home runs by Torres, Torres again, Walker, Judge, and Hicks. It seems like when one bat goes cold, another heats up. Major decisions coming when Greg Byrd returns. Tyler Austin and Neil Walker are on a roll.

Yankees 4 Rangers 6
Nicely pitched game by Cole Hamels. Was this an audition for the trading deadline? Domingo German hit a few rookie roadblocks, but rookies, Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar had home runs. One more game in Texas before returning home.

Yankees 10 Rangers 12
10 runs aren't enough when the pitching goes south. CC Sabathia had a bad night, and the Yankees found ways to blow the lead several times. Back home after a decent road trip. Again plane problems. This time after it was in the air. The Delta charter had to return to Texas with pressure problems, so the team might still be sleeping on the plane. Let's see. How long would a bus take from Texas to New York?

Angels 1 Yankees 2
A good, low scoring game between two good teams. Angels score came on Mike Trout's home run. Gleyber Torres hit the go ahead home run to win the game. He's had home runs in 4 consecutive games. Torres and Ohtani are definite Rookie of the Year contenders.

Angels 11 Yankees 4
Another stinker from Sonny Gray. And the Yankees learned that Mike Trout is not the person to pitch to when a base is open. Read an article about how Jacoby Elsbury keeps adding injury after injury while on the DL. He's so fragile, it wouldn't be a surprise if his playing days are numbered (if not over). Of course there's that matter of 68 million owed through 2021.

Angels 1 4 0 Yankees 3 5 0
Yankees were handed 3 runs in the third inning on 3 walks, a hit batsman, and a single. But that was plenty, with Tanaka looking better after a few less than average starts. It was great seeing Greg Byrd at first and picking up his first hit and rbi this year. Tomorrow the Astros stop in for a visit.

Theory: What if Jacoby Ellsbury saw the future, realized his body was going to break down, and decided the best way he could help the Red Sox was to sign with the Yankees and siphon off as much money from them as he could?
